IMO our government needs to put at least as much effort into understanding our enemies as we do in trying to kill them. The DOD commands billions, yet fucked up iin this circumstance.

The Congress needs to fund the Dept of State so that when such a situation occurs a schooled diplomat with an understanding of Islam and the differences and practices of Muslims in different regions is understood, so s/he can advise the White House and the Sec. of Def. before a Commander in the field takes a non military action without considering the consequences.
