According to some evidence (in particular, the archaeologist Gimbutas), homosexuality and matriarchy were widespread in Old Europe.
I thought a lot about what the connection could be, and finally I seem to understand what the matter is.
Old Europeans lived mostly on poor lands, food supply was limited. Women ruled there, but not all, but only a certain group.
Since it was a symbol of fertility, apparently they were also women in childbirth. It was the type of matriarchal similar to families of pigs and lions. Most of all it looks like an anthill. A pride of females, one or litle more inseminators, and the rest are workers.
Apparently, men were preferable as workers, so women were more often killed and eaten, especially since they competed with the "godesses". Because of this, a shortage of women was created, and men mated with each other as surrogate sex.
The shortage of food resources is also confirmed by the fact that they saved the land, they had many buildings on pillars.
Traces of cannibalism are found very often there. Impressions of teeth on bones finded there.
