Here's a very fun heist vignette, inspired by The Thomas Crown Affair.

Welcome to Switzerland. This is the nation of great watches and clocks, chocolates and cheese, travel and skiing, and of course our renowned safe and secure large banks. The Swiss banking system has become known for its securities and amenities, and we're happy to say Switzerland's historic neutrality from wars and complex politics has rendered its financial investment and banking system a terrific avenue for very safe capital storage. We have assets and money stored in our respected banks from great figures and groups throughout Western civilization and throughout history. That's what this story is about --- a diabolical bank robber we simply called the Dream Thief ("DT").

Now, DT was no fool. He knew that banking in the world today was about diversified funds and assets and easy to transport and store valuables and bonds. DT had been linked to some serious initiatives involving the IRA invested in London's system of British police-military endorsements in Belfast through banks and careful diamond heists linked to the blood diamond exchange. DT was also versed in the commodity valuation of great elements and minerals, especially silver and gold. Our story is about silver and its symbolic value to human imagination in Switzerland, which is why we've afforded our elusive pirate "DT" the special comic book moniker Silver Surfer, though we just call him the Dream Thief.

The item of great value that was stored in the Credit Suisse bank in Geneva (Switzerland) was a highly-embossed antique collector's edition 1980s Megatron Transformers (Hasbro/Marvel) robot transforming hand-gun with silencer and aiming device. This Megatron gun embossed in silver for collectors is estimated to be worth over $5 million, which is a real pretty penny given that it reflects the simple and joyous and very pedestrian market of toys and Christmastime consumerism. That's how the Megatron gun made its way to the Swiss bank, which is what drew in the ex-IRA connected DT (Dream Thief) in this delicious story.

COLLECTOR: We value this Megatron G1 collector's item toy because it simply reflects all the splendor of 1980s capitalism.

Now, the Credit Suisse bank building is no joke. It's a real marvel of modern and neo-classical and restored classical architecture. There're incredible locks and lasers and guardsmen and monitors for the vaults, and one of the vault room safe-boxes held the Megatron collector's million-dollar robot-gun toy, owned at the time by the controversial Saudi prince Ali Fahd who wished to eventually sell the gun to a German Lutheran art dealer named Dietrich Muller.

ss3.jpg

The Dream Thief (DT) walked into the Credit Suisse building in a very strange mask and head-gear, claiming to the client representative that he was sent by Dietrich Muller himself to inspect the Megatron collector's toy in the vault-room ahead of the sale by Prince Fahd in Germany. When the bank representative demanded proof the masked stranger was sent by Muller and asked DT why he was disguised, DT pulled out a TV camera from his van apparently leased by BBC to request that the bank rep escort him while being recorded to the vault room where the inspection would be recorded as well for a public broadcast about 1 hour after the masked stranger's visit to the bank itself.

BANK REPRESENTATIVE: All I can say is that this 'Dream Thief' seemed to me some kind of bizarre modern messenger!

Once inside the bank vault room, the masked stranger pulled out a replica Megatron gun-toy from his jacket pocket and continued to record on TV the bank representative showing him the million-dollar actual authentic Megatron toy owned by Prince Fahd. The masked stranger said into his camera, "This Megatron gun would be a silver trophy for a group such as the IRA itself!"

ss14.jpg

The masked stranger, the Dream Thief (DT) then handed the replica fake Megatron toy-gun and an authentic 1980s Swiss wrist-watch to the escorting bank representative and then said into his camera, "I hereby claim this authentic million-dollar Megatron gun for the IRA!" In the recording, the masked stranger, kept swapping the authentic Megatron toy and his fake replica for a video-recorded showman's game stunt for the apparent BBC broadcast, which made the bank representative laugh out loud. However, during this constant swapping, the Dream Thief (DT) elusively pocketed the authentic toy and kept the fake replica in the keep of the Swiss bank representative. He even left the bank rep the Swiss watch as a cooperation gift for the BBC broadcast.

ss15.jpeg

It was not until one month later when inspectors noticed the Megatron toy gun in the Swiss bank vault was actually a switched fake that the bank realized they'd been hoodwinked by the masked stranger, the Dream Thief (DT). There was never any BBC broadcast about Muller making a pre-sale inspection of the million-dollar item owned by Prince Fahd. When the bank reps visited the BBC station connected to Credit Suisse, they're oddly told, "All we know is that Muller's involved in some multinational media project about the item's distribution."

ss7.jpg

The bank rep who serviced the masked stranger remembered that heist day when he'd escorted the Dream Thief (DT) into the gold vault room to show him the million-dollar Megatron collector's item, embossed in fine silver. It was a memorable event!

IRA: We claim no knowledge or any direct tie to this Dream Thief, and our female Sinn Fein diplomat claims he's just a delusional.

Why did this Dream Thief ("DT") go to such lengths just to grab a collector's Transformers toy embossed in fine silver from the Swiss bank we're so proud of now? We simply don't know. Ironically enough, amidst all this confusion and vertigo confetti, the actual Megatron toy market skyrocketed, and this story perhaps suggests there's strange modern magic in the media of...Denmark.
