The only reason Biden was the nominee in 2020 was that the cupboard was quite literally bare. There was no one else who had the name recognition and was not a P.R. pariah, and Biden was always known to be a buffoon, but generally considered a harmless buffoon, if you could get past his plagiarism. So he mounted a unique candidacy that shunned thing like...you know...campaigning, because the Democrat posse knew that the more Biden spoke in public the less the public would like him. Love affair? Not hardly.

Then you have Harris, who was such a negative factor that none other than the New York Fucking Times was subtly suggesting in late '23 that Biden should figure out a way to gently remove her from his '24 ticket. Then the Democrats were forced to manufacture some enthusiasm for her when Biden figuratively passed away; manufactured enthusiasm remains the only rational way of describing her current situation. The entire campaign centers on hate for and slander of, Mr. Trump.
