30 years ago there were actually people on the Left who stood against that, the refusing to debate the topic and resorting to standard card tossing...

Two names in particular stood out
1. Amy Klobuchar, who is unrecognizable today and for the past decade. In the 1990s, Amy was actually a really good debate person for the Left, professional, polite, intellectually up there, and rational sane, almost never used any of the card toss words, perhaps except to call David Duke racist, which isn't inaccurate.
2. the late Rev Jesse Jackson, all you have to do is pick one episode of Both Sides with Jesse Jackson and you'll see real, meaningful, polite, intellectual AMERICAN STYLE DEBATE
which gets lost when people toss cards. The issues on Iran are quite clear:
1. what is the actual evidence Iran has or had a nuke bomb program, we have Joe Kent's side, the other side is card tossing....
2. why has the "plan" for Iran changed at least 6 times?
3. who is really in charge, Trump or #4 Bibi?
4. is it fair to notice that Donald Trump campaigned against the exact type of "forever war by choice" he and #4 Bibi started?
5. is Donald Trump behaving in a sane and rational manner?
This is the answer...

In the 1990s, Jesse and Klobuchar would have both politely agreed with Robert Novak and Pat Buchanan that we need serious answers to these questions....
and that was when AMERICAN DEBATE was great, before W and O and now Trump simply dumbed it down to card tosses....
