Actually, about 15 years ago or so (roughly) we had just come off of a cooling period of the planet for (again, roughly) a 20 year period or so. That cooling period was accurately predicted based on a historical pattern, and it came to pass. Also based on that same historical pattern, they said the planet would start heating up again. Sure enough, it did and that is the current pattern we find ourselves in. And of course, sometime in the near future here, the Earth will once again enter that cooling period based on the historical cycle that has been very consistent.
