The Definitive Critical Race Theory Thread

You are so bigoted and in the bag for CRT (creating racial tension) that it absorbs any possible reasonable thought that you may have.

Your hate of the truth is not healthy for you, open your mind to some actual truth, just once. You would feel much better.

In this thread he told me he doesn't know or care about it. Sudden about face, wouldn't you say.?

I wish I shared your view of the future.

When one sees the absurd and counterintuitve posts from government school grads, the conclusion about the future is not good.

"Over the past several decades, the progressive Left has successfully fulfilled Antonio Gramsci’s famed admonition of a “long march through the institutions”. In almost every Western country, its adherents now dominate the education system, media, cultural institutions, and financial behemoths."

Unless we can pry the schools from them, as earlier American pried their slaves from them.....America is lost.
Agree. And when we retake the House and Senate, the first thing on the agenda is school vouchers. Biden will veto it, but perhaps there will be enough pressure from parents who are appalled by the “government ownership of children“ that even Dems will override the veto.

I always used to think the term “government school” was a pejorative put out by elitists, but now the term is appropriate. We have got to get our kids away from their influence, and into private school.

So the Democrats can just set up an agency to suppress free speech of citizens who disagree with their politics? Does that mean when we win the majority in Congress (both chambers), we can dissolve it?

That's how the power of the purse is supposed to work.....if the GOP has the stones to do it.Probably before that happens, it will affect someone, somehow. Then I'd see an expedited case before SCOTUS.

….or, instead of dissolving it, we could beat them at their own game and keep it, and then WE decide what goes and stays. Goose and gander type thing.

Then we are as bad as they are.

What would be cooler would be a veto proof majority, then we could pass laws Biden couldn't veto. Like the Finish the Wall Act.

Pessimist speaking again: I have too often been disappointed in the Republicans when they do win.

Trump was the only one to keep promises.

BTW....I should disclose that we are a home school family.

Yes, we would be. Up to now we’ve held ourselves up to a higher standard and have refused to sink to the devious, cheating, unethical methods the Democrats employ.

And look where that’s gotten us. We can be proud of ourselves for doing the right thing while our country is destroyed from the inside. Reminds me of the epitaph…..

Here lies John O‘Day,
Who Died Maintaining His Right of Way,
He was Right....Dead Right…..As he Sped Along,
But He’s Just as Dead as if He were Wrong.

Maybe we should stop worrying about what the right thing is, and concentrate on saving our country from the anti-Americans running our government and waging war on citizens who disagree with them.

We’ll never get a veto proof majority. There aren’t enough open seats in the Senate. The best we can hope for is moderate adems who refuse to go along with the destruction.

1. Critical Race Theory, in the definition proposed in the 1993 book Words That Wound, co-authored by Mari Matsuda, Charles Lawrence III, Richard Delgado, and Kimberlè Crenshaw:
"Critical race theory recognizes that racism is endemic to American life. Rather than seeing racism as aberrational, CRT scholars see it as the norm.
Critical race theory expresses skepticism toward dominant legal claims of neutrality, objectivity, color blindness, and meritocracy.

More important, as critical race theorists we adopt a stance that presumes that racism has contributed to all contemporary manifestations of group advantage and disadvantage along racial lines, including differences in income, imprisonment, health, housing, education, political representation, and military service. Our history calls for this presumption….whites must simply defer to the voices of their non-white peers."

2. The simplest rebuttal is this statement of America’s Creed, which is the opposite of CRT.

…the creed embodies “the political principles of liberty, equality, democracy, individualism, human rights, the rule of law, and private property.” Samuel P. Huntington’s Who Are We? The Challenges to America’s National Identity, p.46

3. A detailed and step-wise dismembering of the aberrant anti-humanity Critical Race Theory, by James A. Lindsay, begins here:

“ Critical Race Theory believes racism is present in every aspect of life, every relationship, and every interaction.
…the usual way society does business, the common, everyday experience of most people of color in this country,”

… what they mean by “racism” isn’t even what most people think racism means. It is not prejudice based upon race or believing some races to be superior or inferior to others that they mean by “racism.” It is, instead, the “system” of everything that happens in the social world and beyond that results in any disparity that works in the favor of “racially privileged” groups (on average) or any “racially oppressed” person claiming they experience racial oppression.

… people who take up Critical Race Theory to look for racism in everything until they find it.

In the workplace that adopts Critical Race Theory, this means that it’s only a matter of time until someone with that worldview finds out how your entire company and its culture is “racist.” At that point, they will cause a meltdown that forces everyone to take sides and demand a reorganization of the entire (now divided) office culture and management.

In schools, it will mean teaching our children to think this way and always be looking for racism in every situation and interaction. In our personal relationships, it means that friends and even family members—especially our kids who have already been educated with Critical Race Theory ideas that have been incorporated in our schools—will eventually call each other out and reject one another, because tolerating racism is also considered a form of racism t
hat would have to be discovered and stopped.”
Eight Big Reasons Critical Race Theory Is Terrible for Dealing with Racism

This is the binary system into which the Left has plunged America: to vote Democrat is to endorse Critical Race Theory....,

.....and vice versa.

My dad really resented teachers unions when I was growing up
his father was the first assistant Secretary of the NEA...

I wish they were here now so i could hear what they think..

I was always glad to grow up under the corporate umbrella..

Which is sort of the opposite of the concept of teachers union..

One point, for clarity: I've belonged to a number of home school organizations in my area, and many of us use internet schooling like K12.com, our choice.

Has a varied curricululm, daily exams, etc.
And, we have science fairs, talent competitions.....the whold nine yards.
And home school kids in NY take all the same exams as government school kids.

I'm glad that so many school boards are facing the wrath of parents over CRT, and its both white and black parents opposing CRT.
My solution is to eliminate race altogether. We are Americans or not. The US is a melting pot of races.
The "one drop rule" is racist and needs to go.
There are so many shades of racism.
And so many confusing terms,
The vernacular has to change..

Yes, if it‘s done right, home school can definitely go the whole nine yards, and perhaps different states have different requirements. But there are exemptions in my state that allow a very “half-baked” approach by the parents, with no required curriculum (for the exempted parents), and in those instances, the kids do fall behind.

Now watch me beat you again, you dolt.

Attacks on parents and groups opposing CRT in K-12 follow closely the messaging scripts and tactics prepared by the 300-group Future of Learning coalition CRT Messaging Guide. And deep in the mix was the largest teachers union in the nation, the National Education Association.

…mainstream media and K-12 school and teachers union officials have been in a frenzy asserting that Critical Race Theory (CRT) does not really exist outside of legal and higher ed academia, that CRT is not taught in K-12, that parents protesting against CRT are billionaire-backed astroturf, and that opponents can’t even define what CRT is.

… CRT apparently is sufficiently defined and sufficiently taught in K-12 that NEA is coming to its rescue and promotion. The claims that CRT is not a thing in K-12 were a fraud.”

The National Educator's Association recently announced it backs the teaching of critical race theory in schools

The country's largest teacher's union approved a resolution to promote critical race theory and assemble a team to teach it to union members

It also wants to assemble a staff to take on those who challenge its plans to promote CRT

In addition to its plans, the NEA will launch a 'national day of action' on October 14 – George Floyd's birthday – to have a dialogue on systemic racism”

39. The largest teacher’s union proclaimed what it hates, and will work to indoctrinate children to hate:

“The NEA will, with guidance on implementation from the NEA president and chairs of the Ethnic Minority Affairs Caucuses:

A. Share and publicize, through existing channels, information already available on critical race theory (CRT) -- what it is and what it is not; have a team of staffers for members who want to learn more and fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric; and share information with other NEA members as well as their community members.

B. Provide an already-created, in-depth, study that critiques empire, white supremacy, anti-Blackness, anti-Indigeneity, racism, patriarchy, cisheteropatriarchy, capitalism, ableism, anthropocentrism, and other forms of power and oppression at the intersections of our society, and that we oppose attempts to ban critical race theory and/or The 1619 Project.”

C. Publicly (through existing media) convey its support for the accurate and honest teaching of social studies topics, including truthful and age-appropriate accountings of unpleasant aspects of American history, such as slavery, and the oppression and discrimination of Indigenous, Black, Brown, and other peoples of color, as well as the continued impact this history has on our current society. The Association will further convey that in teaching these topics, it is reasonable and appropriate for curriculum to be informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory.

D. Join with Black Lives Matter at School and the Zinn Education Project to call for a rally this year on October 14—George Floyd’s birthday—as a national day of action to teach lessons about structural racism and oppression.” Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly | NEA

“Teacher Decorates Classroom with ‘F- The Police, F- AmeriKKKa’ Posters

A Los Angeles parent slammed what he called the “disgusting brainwashing of students with taxpayer dollars” after discovering profane, anti-American propaganda in his child’s public school classroom. Parents Defending Education, a national nonprofit exposing activism in the classroom, reported that a teacher at Alexander Hamilton High School had posted a transgender flag, Black Lives Matter flag, Palestinian flag as well as a profane poster that read “F-Amerikkka.” This is a great example of how anti-American propagandists have turned taxpayer-funded classrooms into indoctrination centers for leftist ideas.” Teacher Decorates Classroom with 'F- The Police, F- AmeriKKKa' Posters

“Minnesota student testifies she was told not to discuss school’s ‘equity survey’ with her parents

…she was asked to complete an “equity survey” by her teacher and told not to discuss it with her parents, which made her feel “uncomfortable.”

“My teacher said that I could not skip any questions even when I didn’t understand them. One question asked us what gender we identify with. I was very confused along with a lot of other classmates,” she told school board members on Monday. She added that students were also told they couldn’t “repeat any of the questions to our parents.”

Increasingly, CRT is being met with resistance by parents and teachers where it has been introduced in school districts.

According to a recent analysis by NBC, some 165 groups have been formed on the local and national levels to push back on CRT instruction in schools. Many of those organizations were launched by parents frustrated and outraged over the CRT curriculum which focuses primarily on teaching kids that American institutions were founded by racist individuals and thus remain racist today and tilted against Americans of color. The new PittEd Justice Collective pushes “justice teaching” and anti-racist initiatives in schools at all levels.

Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education recently put together a three-year working group called the PittEd Justice Collective. This group was created on June 1 in response to “the loss of Black lives through police brutality and other forms of institutional injustice" with a stated purpose to “situate equity and justice across all levels of our school's operations, culture, climate, and academic engagements.”

The group aims to collaborate with "school districts on justice teaching, with an explicit focus on pedagogies, practices, and assessments" and establish a "Youth-for-Justice Dean’s Advisory Committee."

…marched on the stage, holding signs that read “Black Power,” “Jail Trump,” “Free Angela,” and “Black Power Matters.”

Academically, it is one of the worst-performing schools in Pennsylvania. By sixth grade, only 3 percent of students are proficient in math, and 9 percent are proficient in reading. By graduation, only 13 percent of Kelley students will have achieved basic literacy.

29. "Florida parents outraged by school's 'White advantage' statement

Florida parents say the board's pledge promotes racism rather than dismantling it

In a mission statement posted to the board’s website, it vowed to eliminate racism and systems of inequity, but Florida parents have argued the statement is at odds with their intended goal.

"Your statement is dividing us, and it incites racism," mother of two, Jessica Martinez, told board members Wednesday, according to The Palm Beach Post.

The statement says the board is committed to "dismantling structures rooted in white advantage and transforming our system by hearing and elevating under-represented voices, sharing power, recognizing and eliminating bias, and redistributing resources to provide equitable outcomes."

"Equity, as you are calling it, is a political view and it is racist," Amanda Silvestri told the board. "None of this despicable, political, racist nonsense should be pushed on innocent children and has absolutely no business being taught in schools," she added."

30. "The American Rescue Plan (ARP) requires school districts to reserve 20 percent of funds for “evidence-based” interventions that “respond to students’ academic, social, and emotional needs”—a very sensible charge. But the devil is in the definition, and the administration’s guidance booklet for spending ARP funds suggests that students’ social and emotional needs include the disruption of “whiteness” and the propagation of Critical Race Theory (CRT) ideology. The “Roadmap to Reopening Safely and Meeting All Students’ Needs” explains that “schools are microcosms of society,” and that therefore “intentional conversations related to race and social emotional learning . . . are the foundation for participating in a democracy and should be anchor tenets in building a schoolwide system of educational opportunity.”

The guidance document links to the Abolitionist Teaching Network’s “Guide for Racial Justice & Abolitionist Social and Emotional Learning.

While parents are still waking up to the reality that Biden’s Department of Education wants to indoctrinate their children, no close observer should be surprised. After all, when Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona served as commissioner of education in Connecticut, he insisted that “we need teachers behind this wave of our curriculum becoming ‘woke.’” When Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten led the San Diego Unified School District, she oversaw teacher training that accused white teachers of “spirit murdering” black students."

Lol! A bunch of garbage. You don't know what CRT is and you claim to have attended Columbia. So go to the Columbia law department and talk to Dr. Kimberly Crenshaw so you can learn what it really is because shes one of the creators of the theory. All you long winded post did was show that you have no clue of what the theory is.

I know someone in my neighborhood who got into a prestigious university because one great-grandfather was black. She would not have been accepted without her “black status.”
And you continue to pretend that whites aren't granted legacy admissions because family members attended the school when blacks were not allowed.

Amen.

Lefties are ignorant, lying little pieces of shit.

And this crap from the Zinn education project is gonna get squashed real fast. We have every one of those 5,000 names, and more. Teachers like that, are not ONLY going to get fired, they'll never work in this town again.

The left STILL has no idea what just hit them. We have a lot of VERY ANGRY parents out here. DeSantis is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to pushback. The WOMEN are pissed - Noem, Reynolds, ... pretty soon these progtards are going to have to choose between leaving their jobs or leaving the state.

It'll be a cold day in hell when teachers get to push their politics on my child.

Does that go for the right wing teacher?

It is you on the right who do not understand. A record rejection of trump still has not made you understand. You guys don't know what pushback is.

What we are seeing is a national case of white fragility.
