Has anyone here ever done this before? For anyone who isn’t familiar with the Daniel fast (or the Daniel diet), it’s basically a strictly whole food, plant-based diet that people do for 10 days, or up to 21 days. I did this fast once before, and I’m thinking of doing it again.

If you’re wondering why…well, even though I am within the healthy range for my height, I feel like I need to lose 10 pounds. (If I do, I would still be within the healthy range.) Last time I did the Daniel fast, I lost a little bit of weight, but I only did it for a week. I definitely don't want to do it for 21 days, but I'm going to try for a week to 10 days this time.

When I did this fast before, I did a little differently, though. I ate ONLY fruits, vegetables, and a little bit of nuts and seeds. My dinners were mostly a big salad with homemade salad dressing. But not boring salads, they were actually really good. It was pretty much a fully raw WFPB diet, but without grains, legumes or other cooked food.

So anyone want to join me in this? Come on!

BC, you should read the mucusless diet healing system by Prof. Arnold Ehret. He explains the roles of blood, diet, and blood chemistry, and the real functions of the heart and lungs. He also explains the best ways of dieting. I know you are already not a meat eater, so that makes it much easier for you. Avoid rooted vegetables, start with cooked leafy vegetables, then switch to raw. Gradually introduce fruits like citrus. Citrus like cherries and grapes are the most aggressive in cleansing.

The most important part of any fast is the longer you fast, the more important it becomes how you BREAK the fast. The key when you break the fast is to get the waste in your system accumulated from the fast flushed out of your body as soon as possible.

Sounds like a great diet. Really, it sounds like a great overall daily eating plan, just to see if you can stay on track. Right now I'm doing a 6 hour feed window, and too often, it ends up being 7 or 8 hours. The discipline is not starting early, and not snacking late. 6 hours really does work well as long as you time things out right.

Wow... It's a coincidence that you mentioned him, because I wasn't familiar with that name before, but just yesterday I was watching a video (the topic was related to health) and in the video his name was brought up... in a positive way.

I definitely want to look into that, thank you! And yeah, I also want to look into the best way to break a fast. Thanks again for that info, I'm glad you brought that person up.

When I posted this thread, you actually came to mind, because I remembered that you are into eating healthy. Also, I'm glad you brought up the feed window... lately I've been eating dinner really late, and sometimes even a snack after that, which is not good. I should try doing a 6 hour feed window too. Please lmk how that goes.

I was dating a girl in the 1970s who told me about him and gave me two of his books, but the better of the two is his main book, the Mucusless Diet.

My copy is kind of tan/orange, this one is more gray/green on the cover but it says on the back it is still the ORIGINAL book. The book was originally published in something like 1929.

In it, Ehret is a sickly person who discovers the key to vitality and fasts for a month and becomes healthier than an ox.

Many have called Ehret the healthiest man who ever lived. I think he finally died in a car crash or something.

In the book he explains what the true roles of the heart and lungs are and modern medicine has them reversed. In the book, he answers what vitality really is, and what the key to vitality is.

I studied and practiced this stuff for about 20 years, tested it, and know Ehret was right. Follow Ehret's advice and you'll practically eliminate disease and old age.

I once quit eating for a week then went out in the hot sun doing hard work. Ehret also explains the roles of the white and red corpuscle.

Spend $10.00 and get the actual paperback book. I guarantee you won't put it down.

I think I'm gonna get that book. He sounds interesting.

Btw, this isn't the video I watched yesterday that mentioned him, but it's a video by the same person. (I'm not a raw foodist like her, but I've been watching her videos recently, and she brings up some very interesting stuff.) Thanks for that link. :)

With that book, you needn't worry any more about all these diets.

Ehret explains it all. I checked out about a minute of your video and she touches upon the basic--- it all comes down to removing obstructions so that the natural vitality or energy of the universe can flow unimpeded through us.

I could tell you stories but let me limit it by just saying to get his book and read it--- if you follow his plan you cannot go wrong. You won't need to watch anymore videos.

Forget vitamins, minerals, calories, and all that crap--- good health is all about cleansing the body of all of the accumulated filth you've built up since being put on a diet full of FDA-approved crap.

That makes sense. Well, of course in addition to eating right. Alright, you convinced me to get that book, I'm going to go buy it right now. :D

Ehret is just repeating, in his own words, what the sages of natural health have said for thousands of years. Sadly, he leaves out the science needed to fully understand the concept.

Wrong. Ehret's realization that V = E - O based on his own personal experience of raising himself up from a very sickly person back to the peak of vitality few ever see (I believe he was finally killed in some sort of traffic accident) is not anything I'm aware of from any other purveyor of diet and health.

If I'm wrong, produce it.

In effect, what Ehret is suggesting is that given a body free enough of O, V might possibly reach infinity. That is a staggering implication.

It's Greek to me. Perhaps you can 'splain it.

The equation V = E - O represents the relationship between voltage (V), electromotive force (E), and resistance (O). In this context, E is the voltage generated by a source, and O represents the resistance that opposes the flow of electric current. The equation indicates that the voltage across a circuit is equal to the electromotive force minus the drop in voltage due to resistance. This relationship is fundamental in understanding how voltage is measured in electrical circuits.

V O E

I have experienced that.

I suggest reading Paul C. Bragg's "Miracle of Fasting". That's what saved my bacon.

Wrong equation. In this case, V equals Vitality.

BTW, resistance is expressed as R in a DC circuit, not O.
It is expressed as I in an AC circuit.

Also, voltage and electromotive force are the same things.
Thanks. Please explain the rest of it.

Yeahbut, Bragg's book was published about 80 years after Ehret came out with his pivotal publications, so if anything, Bragg borrowed ideas from Ehret, Ehret was not simply restating other people's ideas and works.

Isnt that pretty close to your normal eating habits?

Thanks. Please explain the rest of it.

Better still, just buy a copy of Ehret's book: Mucousless Diet Healing System. He explains it all there. A few of the ideas in his book have later been proven scientifically doubtful (such as his theory on white blood cells) but this has no bearing on the efficacy of his conclusions.

Interestingly, upon reaching the pinnacle of health, examination of his blood showed a dearth of white blood cells right along with his prediction.
