The ClassWar Has Officially Begun

The shot heard round the world from the podium in DC

"It's only right we ask everyone to pay their fair share," Obama said from the Rose Garden at the White House.

Fair share????? Would that amount be based upon the 50% of ppl NOT paying anything???

This whole thing is a ruse. The more you tax, the less money anyone has. And "0" knows Congress will not accept this and he will use it in his campaign to point fingers, but the public is onto him.....:eusa_whistle: It's all a political ploy.

Exactly. One could make the argument that a consumption tax on everything except food would be a good idea. Might as well get some money from the drug dealers and illegals in the country.

Plus, I'd like to hear what he thinks "fair share" really is. AND, why he thinks new businesses and entrepeneurs won't go offshore if he raises taxes on investments.

QFMFT;

As part of any changes to tax law, Obama is calling on lawmakers to follow a principle the administration calls the Buffett rule: No one earning more than $1 million a year should be taxed at a lower rate than middle-income households.

Speaking in urgent tones from the Rose Garden at the White House, Obama rejected Republican arguments that his proposals amount to "class warfare," saying it comes down to "math."

"It is wrong that in the United States of America a teacher or a nurse or a construction worker who earns $50,000 should pay higher tax rates than somebody pulling in $50 million," he said, adding that anyone who opposes that principle "should be called out."

Thank you, Mr. President.

Reagan started class warfare. Under Voodoo, the rich have doubled their wealth, while everyone else is being slowly ruined. The credit card consumerism under BOOOOSH was the last gasp of the USA non rich consumer.
Pub dupes are brainwashed idiots. We're talking 4% more from bloated rich who haven;t been hiring for YEARS- tax cuts worked ONCE, maybe. This is now cult like idiocy...change the channel fcs.

Tax cuts are always a good thing with a responsible gov't (which we haven't had in my 26 years on earth).

When tax cuts are meaningless is when the Fed runs the printing press more to make up for it. What's a tax cut matter when the dollars you're getting back are worth less than they were a few months ago or a year ago?

Biggest problem is the Fed, and the gov'ts willingness to let them do whatever they want.

The rich will lose too. Thats what democrat loyalists don't get. Socialist policies never bring anyone out of poverty, they just lead to the erosion of the wealthy and middle class, where the wealth is finally in the hands of aristocrats, and everyone else is poor.

Depends what you call rich, if you call rich making $5 million a year yes those people are losing because of our Fed/gov't policies, if you make $5 billion a year you probably stand and cheer our Fed/gov't as loud as your voice would let you.

It's the rich that are hurt the last, but turn up the dial on socialism, and everyone gets screwed, but your right, the mega rich are last to go.

Just to be clear, turn the dial up on Socialism (really Socialism) and the wealthy get their lland and money confiscated:eek: not a rise of 3% on their base tax. President Obama is not a socialist.

According to Boehner (instructed by his corporate pupeteers & that guy who looks like Jabba the Hut- Grover Norquist ;-) Seniors, the middle-class, and the poor need to pay dammit!!!

I'll bet even during most socialist type governments that the super rich were taken care of, simple bribes and what not probably helped them keep their stuff.

Give him some time.

We have had a class war building for years, it didn't start with Obama although he has given it a good shove in the wrong direction but then that is all he knows. His entire work history has been pandering to the black part of society and promising them that he will make it better for them but never mentioning that it would require work and dedication. The only promise my Dad every made me was that is I wanted something and was willing to work hard enough I might achieve my dream.

The ignorance is glaring on this site !

This regime is making it so that those that have money dont want to risk it.... so they sit on it

Yeah, that's powerful ignorant, all right.

The reason why those who have money are sitting on it has nothing to do with "the regime," except insofar as Obama is continuing the failed Reagan policies of the past 30 years. It has to do with the fact that too many people have too little money and so can't buy anything, which means that investing their money would be a waste of time.

If you want the rich to invest their money, take some of it from them and give it to the rest of us. I'm dead serious here. If the rest of us had more money to spend, there would be a reason to invest capital in producing more for us to spend our money on. Otherwise, there is no reason and it won't be done.
Priceless! There you have it folks...an honest liberal telling everyone what it really is about. It all about the redistribution of wealth.

I'm looking at a lot of the blue countries that are socialists and communists, of course they would be blue....and poor, with big ass governments. :cuckoo:

Nice use of a talking point, pointless, but a good play. Too little money circulating in our economy benefits no one, not the rich, not the poor and not the many in the middle. The entire argument of the New Right is pure and simple demagoguery. If one puts aside emotion and takes a critical look at the economics the Tea Party movement isn't rational.

Try thinking through the hopes and dreams of the Tea Party; even you may be able to figure out the dream is a nightmare for the vast majority of Americans.

It's not even just that 50% pay nothing. With refundable tax credits, those paying taxes are also paying into the personal pockets of those that pay nothing,

So, quit your job and go to work for two or more businesses which provide less than full time employment so as to not pay benefits, and you too can benefit from poverty. You'll pay less taxes - don't pretend you won't pay any taxes - and can use the emergency room at your local county hospital for routine care.

Noted. One more fool using talking points as the basis for a political philosophy.
