The Beatles and Cream and Led Zeppelin snd The Rolling Stones and The Doors

Are you experienced is my favorite Jimi Song

I absolutely love

Hey Joe

A band (became famous but I'm at a loss here) played a Summerthing Concert at the City Yards in East Boston (early 1970s, maybe even 1970). It was incredibly great in my view. Great experience that night.

One of Dante's all time favorite songs is

Since I've Been Loving You

He was at the concert at the Boston Garden for the concert promoting the album (I think). Brings Dante back to being 16 years old.

Now he's struggling with cardiac issues and other shit -- the bills are coming due for such a wild life lived

I saw LZ twice at MSG 73 and 75. One show, I forget which started with Out on the Tiles intro but then Black Dog!

I remember going to Jones Beach the next morning and my ears were still ringing, they were so loud it felt like I was just in a football game.

I remember being a little let down during the acoustic set…but now That’s the Way and Going to CA are 2 of my favorites

Wouldn’t trade that for anything

1969. Coffee Shop in Maverick Square (back when the MBTA station was more of a bus barn loo than anything today). The Juke Box. Boy did some of those regular guys (older) hate when myself or others came in to play the few Led Zeppelin tracks (45s) on the Juke Box. But the people who ran the machines made tons of coins. :auiqs.jpg:

"Oh baby..."

I believe the first LZ songs on the JB were

The Lemon Song
&
Whole Lotta Love

I saw them twice too - 1971 & 1973

We were both at the Boston Garden

Setlist

Rock and Roll, Celebration Day, (Bring It On Home intro) Black Dog, Over the Hills and Far Away, No Quarter, The Song Remains the Same, Rain Song, Dazed and Confused (incl. San Francisco), Stairway to Heaven, Heartbreaker, Whole Lotta Love (incl. Let That Boy Boogie).

by 1975 I stopped going to big stadium size concerts -- too crazy crowds. I did go a few times years later a very few times

Yeah we’re all on temporary visas here brother
Always knew that. Docs always surprised at my attitude. I'm not only tough and resilient, but seriously rational about it all. Very little drama here.

I actually shared a few details with a member here in PM.

LZ gets accused of “stealing” but all the old blues guys probably feel like Ladysmith Black Mambazo does about Paul Simon, he’s an angel who brought our music out to the world…take Howling Wolfs Killing Floor and add in one Robert Johnson squeezed lemon

One of my son friends Dad said he was at The LZ Boston Tea Party show

I’m not sure if I saw them in 71

Yeah similar timeline for me too and I got more into Blackmore

"Stealing" when it comes to the arts is so ..

Giving credit where it is due is in order. But look at Bob Dyan and all he "borrowed"

My friend ran the sound system at the old Boston Tea Party. He has great stories (had his own speaker line) -- great connections years ago and ended up at Microsoft

I actually heard recordings (reel to reel tapes) of Ten Years After/Alvin lee and others in their youthful prime. Most Brit Bands hit Boston first (flights).

But what's puzzlin' you is the nature of my game."

Sympathy For The Devil

One of the best songs ever.

I'm more of a Who and Pink Floyd fan, but all those old bands were great.

The WHO were there. Pink Floyd sort of came a little late as far as air play in the US and popular record sales: post Barrett.

I saw them the first time in London in 1966 at the UFO Club. Saw them again in 68, also in London, then saw them on The Wall tour twice, in LA in 1980, and again in London at Earl's Court.

I've seen The Who over a dozen times starting in 66.
