The UN had absolutely no legal authority to partition Palestine.
The Treaty of Sevres in 1920 established that the Ottoman Empire would relinquish control over Palestine, and that Palestine would be given Arab autonomy, as the majority.
So the UN had no business dividing the country.
And the Jews were almost entirely recent illegal European immigrants.
They were less than a third of the population, and should not have been given over half of the country.
In fact, there should not legally been any partitioning at all.

The Treaty of Severes was REPLACED just three years later by the Treaty of Lausanne because the Nationalist TURKISH nation rejected it.
