The reservoirs are full. There is no water shortage and no magic spigot to get more from the north. Natural disasters should be paid for by the taxpayer. It was done for hurricane victims, even though most weren’t Dem voters.

They have multi-million dollar homes, good incomes, other assets and resources, and can probably get by without any help from outside, if they are forced to do so. (For reference, if my townhouse burned to the ground, it would be an inconvenience but not a catastrophe).

It's not like some family in Appalachia having their hovel burned down, having no resources to recover.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Would YOU re-build in that area? On the same lot? I wouldn't.
