GDP Growth in Q1 2020 was -5%. For the whole quarter. You don't get there with a few weeks of Covid restrictions.

A quarter is a three month period.

Q1 2020 began in January, when the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Seattle. Covid was already ravaging Asia and Europe, and thus their economies were beginning to suffer for it, as such the chain reaction hit our economy as well, and our GDP with it. We hadn't fully implemented restrictions yet, but everyone was seeing the writing on the wall.
