So....if you claim primary residence in Maryland, then that means you are legally a registered resident of maryland.

This means that schiff is not and hasn't been, for all this time, a member of Congress, because if you leave the state you represent, you vacate the seat, right?

The House could make a rule (by simple majority vote) that anyone who misrepresents their primary residence automatically loses their seat.

I dont think they have to vote. Schiff vacated his seat when he chose to legally reside in maryland, this means he can't even run for office in California because it isnt his primary legal residence.

The POS was already elected from the House to the Senate in 2024. The Senate would have to make their own rule in that regard. I don't know if a simple majority vote would work there or not.

Again, the rule is already made. Once he legally changed his residence, that triggers a vacancy in his seat.
