She isn't my most favorite, but I am surprised to see Ashley Judd missing from the list. To me, she did a wonderful job on her Where The Heart Is character. :) :) :)

God bless you and her always!!! :) :) :)

Holly

P.S. When she talked about coming home to find her kids being messed with, her performance was flawless.

Gosh, I have seen all of those in old and new movies, and agree they were/are convincing, but my very favorite would be Meryl Streep, as she is the most versatile and flawless, and I am also a big fan of Gwyneth Paltrow.

One of my favorite female actor performances of all time was Streep in "Out of Africa".

The ones I would delete. Not that they aren't "good", they just aren't the "greatest".

When I look at:

Judgement at Nuremberg
A Star is Born
The Clock
Meet Me in St. Louis
A Child is Waiting
I Could Go On Singing
The Wizard of Oz

Clearly Judy Garland belongs on that list. Her problem is that people think of her as a "light weight musical comedy" star and not an actress.

and Audrey Hepburn (nominated 5 times and won once)

and Geraldine Page (won on her 8th nomination)

and Agnes Moorehead (nominated 4 times and never won)

How well they both did in the Stepmom film is why I think Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts should be on that list somewhere too. :) :) :)

God bless you and them always!!! :) :) :)

Holly

P.S. Julia especially did a wonderful job on her crying when she said that she feared hearing the daughter say on her wedding day that she wished her mom was there if Susan's character was not still around by then.
