I've worked with a number of friends to find them insurance that suited their situation through the exchanges. Again this has to do with the pool quality that you pay into - by changing the maternity risk on the bigger pool burden on women and procreating families is decreased.

I never used it because after the monthly premium I can't afford to go to the doctor.

Our insurance payments went up on average and in the least 10%-15% every single year for the previous 10 years before O-care...some due to the insurance price going up each year, some due to employers paying less for their share and making employees have a bigger share, some due to employers no longer covering any portion for the employee's family.....

It was even more of a mess than it is now...and now is not good.
