While states like California are trying to find ways to defy President Trump by protecting criminal illegals, Texas is on the verge of passing legislation that would hold Mauors, police Ciefs, and other city officials accountable for enabling Sanctuary Cities.
If caught doing so, these coty officials could be SENT TO JAIL for breaking the law and aiding /abetting criminals.
GO, TEXAS! HUA!
Texas prepares to begin locking up leaders in sanctuary cities - Hot Air
"Texas would be the first in which police chiefs and sheriffs could be jailed for not helping enforce immigration law. They could also lose their jobs."
Ha.Ha.---Well I think that is a lot of
"HOT AIR." City leaders are in charge of police and Sheriff's office's and it is they that will dictate where they spend money on crime. If they feel murder, rape, theft, robbery are more important--that is where they will DIRECT the attention too.
Furthermore--I doubt Texas has any written law regarding sanctuary cities--and without a written state statute regarding sanctuary cities within that state- then there is no law broken.
Which is the exact same problem Trump ran into with his executive order to defund sanctuary cities. Until CONGRESS comes up with a
legal definition of what a sanctuary city is--and then a law regarding sanctuary cities and what to do with them is voted on and approved--there is no way to determine which cities are sanctuary and which ones aren't.
