Same. I am a Bill of Rights Nut, but a good background check system can be tailored to protect us, our rights, and the childrenz. Primarily it needs to be kept up to date.I’m all for background checks.
~~~~~~I’d be shocked if he obtained this gun through legal channels. Because it is easy for people to steal or gain access to guns illegally, the focus needs to be on preventing illegal access to firearms.
That is not going to happen because you won't get anywhere trying to change HIPAA laws.And part of that will be access to their Medical information
The problem with red flag laws is that all it takes is someone to "claim" their neighbor was seen exhibiting irrational behavior or threatening behavior against them, when it may just be a case of someone who hates people owning firearms and falsely claims they were threatened, if they happen to know you are a firearms owner and if you have no witnesses, they cops still take them away. States with red flag laws have policies that you can get your firearms back within a year, IF you present evidence to the contrary to the complainant and if it's just some clown that doesn't want you having firearms and knows you have no witnesses to his claim, you'll never get them back.. It's just a gun grab no matter how you look at it.No Red Flag laws to take them back.
But yes I agree.
Like I said, you will never get that law passed. It's a pipe dream!Unless to buy a firearm there is an automatic waiver that you either sign off on or bow out of the purchase
End FtoF private Sales Nationwide
Ok so to keep FtoF and intra Familial Transfers , the HIPPA waiver seems more doable ?
