Texas spends more than $12 million to bus migrants to Washington, DC, and New York...great value for taxpayers?

CNN is realizing that this is a MAJOR issue for New York and D.C residents, so they try and convince Texans that they are being scammed. If it was good for NY and D.C, CNN wouldn't say much at all. I think Texans are probably a little sharper than CNN gives them credit for.

First, as I understand it money has been raised in Texas to cover some costs.

Second, $12M is a HELL of bargain for taxpayers to move, say approx 10,000 illegal citizens thus far. How much would it cost taxpayers to house, feed and assist so many people on a monthly basis? How many under the table jobs taken which hurt citizens and politicians?

This is a advertisement for Abbott not negative criticism.

(CNN)The state of Texas has spent more than $12 million busing migrants to Washington, DC, and New York who crossed into the state from Mexico, according to figures from the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
A state government spreadsheet obtained by CNN through a Freedom of Information Act request shows that, as of August 9, Texas has paid $12,707,720.92 to Wynne Transportation, the charter service that is taking migrants to the two cities.

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott's office has said migrants are transported out of state only with their written permission. It is not clear what other options have been offered to the migrants.
Abbott's office did not immediately reply to a request for comment from CNN on Tuesday. In a news release Friday, Abbott's office said that "the busing mission is providing much-needed relief to our overwhelmed border communities."

It is usually the responsibility of released migrants to cover the cost of their travel throughout the US as their asylum cases are pending in court. However the state-chartered border buses have been providing free rides to the north-bound asylum-seekers for months.
One illegal immigrant mother having a premature baby will easily cost Texas a million dollars. Do the math on 200,000 illegals PER MONTH.

So, why didn't Abbott stop it?
Why didn't Abbott bus them to Mexico?

Millions of tax payer $$$ wasted on politics, it's the Trumptard way.
Then whine about the deficit.
What a stupid question. Why isn’t Biden stopping it? Why doesn’t he send them back to Mexico?
Millions of $$$ wasted on being “ politically correct “ or not appearing “ racist”
It’s the Biden way
Then whine about the deficit

How much does Texas have to spend to support them? Better idea is to ship them back where they came from.

For starters, you can provide assistance to help their home countries deal with the issues driving this immigration: gang violence at home, and a long term drought brought on by climate change.

Trump cut off all funds to fight the gangs in their home countries to punish these nations for not keeping people at home. The result just increased the numbers of people fleeing. He also did nothing to help with the drought conditions brought on by climate change.

Having them wait in Mexico and "metering" their arrival is not a solution. It's making things worse because there is no infrastructure or services in the camps either, which are both dirty and dangerous. Unfortunately, the immigration infrastructure which existed prior to Trump's election is gone and the workers disbursed.

As with restoring all businesses and services, the people have had to move on to other jobs etc. Just like everyone else, get these offices up and running again is hampered by a shortage of workers and resources to make it happen.
We give their home countries billions every year. Somehow it all gets siphoned off by the kleptocrats running those countries. We need to stop giving them money. Let them solve their own problems with their own money. After the USA became a country, no one was giving us foreign aid. Somehow we funded our own government.

I really don't care about conditions in MEXICAN camps. Perhaps if they were unpleasant enough the illegal immigrants would return to their own countries rather than wait for a ticket into the USA. The best solution would be for the Mexicans to turn the immigrants back at Mexico's southern border rather than facilitate their progress to our southern border in an effort to make it our problem. Not allowing "refugees" into the USA before their cases are adjudicated is the only sane policy because they have proven that they don't show up for their hearings, they just disappear into the population. Almost none of the refugee petitions are granted since they aren't fleeing their governments, they are fleeing economic problems or criminals. Neither of which qualify as causes for sanctuary under either US or International law.

I think you'd sing a different tune if we were to pass them on to Canada. You'd scream louder than those hypocrites on Martha's Vineyard.

IT WAS REAGAN'S IDEA!!!! DEMOCRATS OPPOSED THE WHOLE THING.

Reagan's idea was to give "amnesty" to illegals. Democrats opposed it saying it would give them incentive to come in illegally.

Reagan said that NAFTA would create jobs in Mexico and people wouldn't have to sneak across the border to find work. What Reagan failed to tell Americans that the jobs being created in Mexico used to be YOUR manufacturing jobs.

Democrats refused to pass NAFTA in the House after Clinton was elected, until protections for American workers were improved.

STOP BELIEVING REPUBLICAN LIES ABOUT DEMOCRATS, IMMIGRATION AND "OPEN BORDERS".
You are insane or totally ignorant. The democrats forged a deal with Reagan for a one-time amnesty. They got that but reneged on their part of the deal which was comprehensive border control and harsher laws against employing illegals.

What an asinine waste of money. He could have set up E Verify and fined employers who hire illegals. Abbott is so stupid
He can't do that. Immigration of a federal matter. The feds have sued states to stop them from enforcing any immigration laws.

The fucking Illegals cost the American taxpayers a $100 billion a year so how in the hell is Potatohead's demented sicko open border policy great for the American taxpayer?
