Actually the UK was allowed to control immigration from outside of the EU, and... didn't.

I mean, SERIOUSLY, 27.9% of London was born OUTSIDE OF THE EU.
Do you know how many dumb people voted for Brexit because they thought this would stop non-EU immigration? It's embarrassing.
7.1% were born in Africa, 4.2% were born in the Caribbean, 13% were born in Asia.
And this has been through a "left wing" government (run by someone his own party call conservative) and by a right wing government for the past 13 years.
