Not everything that can be done should necessarily be done.

That said, it isn’t just a dark or a light “style” that really matters. It is the legibility of words and associated images that do make a difference.

I whole heartily agree that sig lines need to be cleaned up. Maybe limited to a determined character length with no gifs, videos, and such. They really clutter-up things.

I learned a long time ago that turning signatures off is the best way to deal with them. I mean, do you really want to read that same shit over and over and over again?

On a long enough timeline your prediction will come true about everything in life. We are born. We die. The world will end eventually as well.

My response at the time (2023) was that we had no plans to remove the skin. At that time we didn't. I had no plans to remove the skin when I started the upgrade.

After the upgrade when I saw how many errors the old skin had and the amount of work I'd have to do to make it work with the new software, I decided the effort wasn't worth it.

It takes a lot of work to fix all the CSS and HTML bugs on a skin when you upgrade the software. Now, multiply that for every skin we support and every upgrade we do, and every add-on and modification we add... it's a lot of work. And when only a handful of people use it, it's hard to justify the time expense.

Still a dark option, that is all I care about.

I gave constructive criticism and offered a solution, to offer the old skin.

It’s easier on the eyes for some reason. Font and icons look better.

See my previous posts from today. Xenforo released a new version, it's a major version and breaks the skins. The old version has security holes and security updates will not be released for it. Thus, an upgrade is required.

In how many threads and how many times should I regurgitate the same information? If someone truly cares about the site and it's a big issue, you'd think they'd do a modicum of searching or viewing the already (5) threads about the issue beforehand...

I can appreciate not wanting to customize all the old skins, that would (a) be a PIA and (b) not worth the effort.

Notice in the screen shot below. The "old text" in the post by Dante (upper arrow). Then look at the text in the reply box (lower arrow). The upper text seems kind of muted, while the lower text has more contrast to the background and is easier to read. Well on my eyes it is.

A consideration to bumping the contrast for body text would be appreciated. (Of course this is in reference to the Dark Skin.)

I don't worry about size to much, I can zoom in/zoom out.
