Terri Schiavo's Husband: Jeb Bush 'Put Me Through Hell'

"Terri Schiavo collapsed in her Florida apartment. Two years later, her husband, Michael, sued her doctors for malpractice, and a jury awarded him $1.5 million for the rehabilitation therapy he testified she would receive.

However, in 1993, Terri’s father, Robert Schindler Sr., had an argument with his son-in-law during which he asked, “When are you going to start the rehabilitation therapy that you not only promised the jury, our family, but, most importantly, Terri?”

The question infuriated Schiavo, who cut off communication with the Schindlers. Later that year, Terri developed a urinary tract infection, and Michael asked the nursing home to not prescribe antibiotics, which would have meant the infection would eventually have killed her. He did the same thing after moving her to another nursing home.

Then, near the end of 1997, Schiavo began efforts to have his wife’s feeding tube removed, which would lead to her death, following which Michael stood to inherit the remainder of the malpractice-suit money.

I hope you never have to go through anything like that, but how long would you like to have your body kept alive while in a persistent vegetative state? Me? Pull the plug as soon as doctors make the diagnosis.

"
In 1992, Michael Schiavo sued for malpractice and won over a $1 million. He was personally awarded $300,000 for his "loss" and $700,000 for Terri's rehabilitation and care for the rest of her natural life. However, the therapy, after the award, was not approved by Michael Schiavo and she was confined to a nursing home after the settlement.

It was after the settlement that Michael first claimed that Terri had previously stated that she didn't want to be kept alive by artificial means — a statement he never mentioned during the malpractice trial. He has never produced any written proof that Terri said that.

Beginning almost immediately after receiving the malpractice funds, Michael Schiavo, as Terri's legal guardian, began to refuse approval for ANY therapy or rehabilitation efforts and she has been confined to bed."

When did Michael Schiavo first start trying to kill Terri

The truth shall set you free.

Funny how distrust goes in circles. What was the thread about, then, Ugly?
It was PC denying the slaughter.

That's a lie.

BTW....notice what a fool you allied yourself with.
I'm still waiting for you to show where I either "agreed" with him or "allied" with him??

Just a note, ya fruit loop dingus ... I already know why you won't show it. :mm:
So do I.
I suspect so does she. She just doesn't possess the character required to admit it.

There was no plug to pull. There is absolutely no indication that Terri, who was CATHOLIC, ever authorized anyone to off her if she was unable to feed herself. She was not on LIFE SUPPORT. She had a feeding tube. That's it.

Oh snap!

And she wasn't on life support. She had a feeding tube. The piece of shit husband who first received a settlement to pay for her rehabilitation, then denied it to her, wanted to starve and dehydrate her to death.

"Euthanasia is such a widely misunderstood issue. So much of our society accepts this way of “caring,” which means directly killing people who are being sustained by basic and ordinary care, food and water.

Understand: Terri wasn’t on life support. She was receiving what the Church describes as basic and ordinary care, food and water. She had a feeding tube. She could’ve quite possibly lived a normal life span if she’d continued to receive food and water.

Furthermore, people don’t realize other individuals with brain injuries are being killed every day because the laws now consider feeding tubes artificial life support. It enables medical professionals and families to take it away from individuals if they choose.

The majority of calls we get are from families who are up against health-care professionals who are trying to take away food and water.

Ahh, thanks for revealing how clueless you are. Feeding tubes are absolutely considered life support in Florida.

(10) "Life-prolonging procedure" means any medical procedure, treatment, or intervention, including artificially provided sustenance and hydration, which sustains, restores, or supplants a spontaneous vital function. The term does not include the administration of medication or performance of medical procedure, when such medication or procedure is deemed necessary to provide comfort care or to alleviate pain.

As a side note to SMDT, ^THAT^ is what a link looks like to prove one's point.

By "pull the plug," I mean to end the remaining life of a person on life support. As far as whether or not there was any indication she would have wanted the [proverbial] plug pulled -- there is an indication. Her husband claims she told him. There is no proof to the contrary. And before you try to devolve into a position that he lied, which can't be proven one way or the other .... it doesn't matter ... as her husband and legally appointed guardian, it was his choice to make even if she never told him that. In fact, the only way she could have been kept alive is if she had specified in a living will that she was not to be terminated under any condition.

Now with that resolved, maybe you'll answer the question ... how long would you want to endure in that condition? How long would you want to burden your loved ones with having to take care of every aspect of your existence? How much of their money do you want them to spend to keep you in a persistent vegetative state?

It's a ******* term, ya fruit loop dingus. I understand in some cases, it's an actual plug -- but it's become an expression equating with terminating a terminal patient on life support./

And that in no way means a "feeding tube" is not considered "life support" in Florida. I tellin' ya, even with just half a brain, Terri Schiavo was still sharper than all og the brain-dead right wing nuts in this thread combined.

Did any media coverage use "pull the plug" instead of removing the feeding tube? I think you're no different than the rest of the Leftards here saying she was a corpse, braindead, or otherwise flaunting their complete ignorance of PVS as a medical condition. Only now you're embarrassed because you got caught. Nobody says pull the plug instead of remove the feeding tube. That's a load of shit.

I got caught with nothing by a retard who couldn't catch something even if there was something to catch. a) it's an expression thesaurus.com: pull the plug ; and b) I never said they "pulled the plug" when speaking of Terri. I said if I were in a persistent vegetative state, pull the plug. (i.e., end it)

You really are more retarded than PC.

The pro-death cultists get so angry when faced with facts.
Ya mean facts like you claiming a feeding tube isn't life support? That kind of fact?

You lefties love to change the definitions of the words that describe you as the murdering pieces of shit you are.

You try to re-define life eternally, to justify and hide the fact that you want to take it from those who cannot defend themselves, and get in your way.

Life support, before you nazi scum determined it needed to be broadened, referred SOLELY to those activities and devices that kept airway, breathing, and circulation systems functioning artificially. NOT by means of eating (which is the way EVERYBODY sustains themselves).

Once a person no longer needed LIFE SUPPORT, i.e., assistance with regulating heartbeat, breathing, circulation...they were taken OFF life support. And that's what happened with Terry. She was taken off life support. Only to her husband's horror and disappointment, she didn't die quickly enough. In fact, her heart and breathing carried on apace, as did her circulation. She just couldn't feed herself.

So he had to go that extra mile. After getting a million dollars to TREAT her, he opted not to treat her, but to actively finish what he started.

And pigs like you cheered him on.

What I'm changing rightard? I quoted Florida law, in case you didn't notice. As far as terminating Terri's life ... it wasn't murder -- again, from Florida law. And it was Michael's choice, also according to Florida law. Which is why the courts told Jeb to stay the **** out of it.

As far as everyone sustaining life by eating, you could say the same about breathing.

I'll put it another way. I don't accomodate assholes who pretend they don't know what I'm talking about.

And since you didn't read the last link I posted and you referenced, all the more reason not to waste time with a troll.
Hmm, look at that ... still no proof you know what you're talking about. I'm shocked. And btw, it's because I did read the thread you linked that I know you were wrong in claiming she started a thread to celebrate the slaughter of Indians. That actually lends more reason not to take you at your word without a link.
Funny how distrust goes in circles. What was the thread about, then, Ugly?
It was PC denying the slaughter.
Yes it was. Now reference the Holocaust and how the Nazis denied it ever happened and you'll understand how a people can see denying a horrific event that really occurred as affirming, even celebrating it. PC is doing the same thing as Nazis and White Supremists today who at the same time memorialize the victory of pure blooded whites against the undesirables. Before putting your lot in with her, you might want to consider the kind of person she is, a racist bigot, a white supremacist, a Nazi.

No good person sides with that.
How does one "celebrate" something they're denying???

:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo:
I drew you a map and you still got lost. And did you notice PC denied your interpretation of her thread too or did that also escape your attention?

Let me explain it in a way that even he-who-ate-the-marshmallow can understand. A baby is not on life support. He doesn't need a machine to help him breathe or pump his blood. Yet if he isn't fed, he will die, for he is unable to feed himself. That was Terri Schindler, not on life support but, like a baby, needing somebody to feed her or she would die.

You on the demonic Left cheered while a living woman was murdered by her abusive husband. You took the side of a wife beater. That's why I never believe you people when you spout your feminist crap. When the opportunity to kill arises, all those principles fly out the window.

How will you escape condemnation?

Imbecile ... the key difference between a baby and Terri Schiavo in terms of life support is that a baby is capable of swallowing food. :eusa_doh:

Had Terri been capable of that basic ability, she would have been fed by others just like a baby is fed.
