It doesn't cost "millions" to build a gallows, and the ropes needs are already in the prison's inventory.

The "millions" is the imposed costs from liberals who want to give the criminals unlimited appeals all at the cost of the taxpayers.

BTW, they will get that anyhow, even if they get a life sentence, criminals get government paid appeals on an unlimited and permanent basis.

Non- DP States have lower murder rates than DP states.

The millions are because the states apparently can't convict the right people.

196 people who were sent to death row have been exonerated since 1976. In short, they didn't do it, but courts later determined that they didn't do it because cops lied, labs made mistakes, prosecutors ignored evidence, juries were racist, etc.

Then why does Texas have a higher murder rate than Vermont? Texas is the execution capital of the country, and they have one of the highest homicide rates.

Same thing with countries. The US has more homicide than any other industrialized democracy, but we are only one of two that still has the DP (the other is Japan, and they use it sparingly).
