In some cases in court, the winner of a case was allowed to slap the right cheek of the loser with the back of the winner's right hand. Osteen, for instance, is worth about 25% of what's he raked in over the years from publishers like Time/Warner and others. He finances his own tours, paid off the construction bonds on his church there in Woodlands, some $40 million out of his own pocket, and other stuff no swindler and crook would ever do.

One thing he did do is he grew that house of God he was put in charge of... with his church, his TV network airing 24/7, and so many radio stations, books and gospel recordings because he has his own recording studio.

In 2020 for the pandemic lockdown if you were a believer you started looking for the church on TV and the only one was Jimmy Swaggart's church that NEVER shut down. It remained open, airing live, and in full effect throughout the entire pandemic.

For a while he mistakenly believed everyone had to speak in tongues in order to be saved. However he came out of that line of thinking, and went on to believe salvation is by God's grace with faith in Christ Jesus.
