Teen Dancer Taken From Legal Guardian Alleges Racial Profiling - Yahoo
I am amazed at how blatantly racist these cops were.

It is totally racist profiling. If the girl had been black and the same age, they would not have stopped them. If the girl had been with two white men, they would not have stopped them. And they even told them the reason they were stopping them was because she was white. Even after they saw all her papers, and talked to her mom on the phone, they took her away from them. This is as racist as it gets. There isn't any excuse for it unless they are stopped all cars with adult men and girls under 18, no matter what race they are. This is something they are not doing, so it is obviously racist profiling. Anyone who would excuse it is a racist.
Racial profiling is racist.
There were not 'completely justified' at all.
Racial profiling is racist.
It can be, but it's not a given.
Is it racist when a black police officer profiles a black person?
There were not 'completely justified' at all.
Agree to disagree. Again, how often would you expect to find a 13 year old white girl with two adult black men, at 3am, and have it be completely innocent as it was in this case?
Get a grip Shaniqua.....everything isn't about race except to a racist.Racial profiling is racist. There were not 'completely justified' at all. Taking her away from her guardians who had papers giving them permission to have her with them, taking her away after they had talked to her and to her mother, this is not justified, and they would not have done it if she were a black girl. It is racist and not justified.
I agree if a car is parked in a gas station at 3 am and the people are snoozing, and there is a minor, ok, the cops can check it out, but they immediately put one man in handcuffs and after they talked to the girl, and to her mother, and saw the paperwork, they still took the girl away. That is NOT justified...
they would not have done it if she had been black.

Again, the girl is 13 and sleeping in a car with 2 male adults at 3am.
I don't care if she was asian, white, black, hispanic, or the 2 men where asian, white, black, hispanic, or eskimo.
The police did the right thing and Child Protective Service should become involved. ...

This is a no win situation for the police. Ignore it and it turns out she's being abused/traded by these guys? Then all you hear is "why didnt the police do something"
Where the police erred is in being assholes about it during the procedure. If they had kept it professional this story would not have gotten as far as it has.
Incorrect. The police chief (who is black) was on the news defending the actions of the patrolmen 100% ...
Well, duh. He has to do that. That's his job.
