Ted Cruz: "Will Abolish IRS and Department of "Education"

And he'll replace IRS with what exactly? No tax revenue means no USA.

A National Sales Tax would do quite well. It would be perfect. Not a VAT, not a consumption Tax...... A National Sales Tax on everything but Food, Housing and Pharmaceuticals capped at a certain level per item.....

Why not the Fair Tax Act? That is essentially a national sales tax, except it give no exemptions whatsoever. It does, however, refund all taxes paid on money up to the poverty level.

These idiots don't think that far ahead. Even the dumbest republican should realize he will never be allowed to do any of that...just more right wing fantasy porn to jerk off to. Education dept makes sense. Its how they keep getting elected.Dumber they can keep em the better.

Flat tax
Please explain how one tax bracket will simplify taxes.

Right now, there are seven tax brackets. I challenge you to explain how those seven tax brackets are the sole reason filing taxes is so complicated.

A flat tax applies the same tax rate to all taxpayers with no deductions or exemptions.
I would like to see that in writing.

I have never seen a Fair Tax Act which explicitly forbids deductions, exemptions, and credits.

Go ahead. Read one. See for yourself.

From the 2015 Fair Tax Act:
De Minimis Sale of Financial Intermediation Services.--Up to
$10,000 per calendar year of gross payments received by a person from
the sale of financial intermediation services (as determined in
accordance with section 801) shall be exempt from the tax imposed by
section 101.

See? They have already given carve-outs to special interests. You are going to need a long form to determine if you are eligible for any of the tens of thousands of carve-outs which will inevitably appear in follow-on years after enactment.

I have yet to see any tax "reform" which explicitly bans exemptions, credits, and deductions. And here we can see the Fair Tax has exemptions, credits, and deductions on the launch pad!

Wake up, people. You are being scammed.

Cruz hones pitch as he visits rural New Hampshire voters

He is promising to abolish the Internal Revenue Service and scrap the Education Department. He vows to curtail federal regulators, likening to locusts that deserve to be killed. And his standard campaign-style speech includes a zinger about the Second Amendment."

I know he is just a grandstanding demagogue but it is still really nice to make skylar, paintmyhouse and other welfare parasites ' s asshole pucker.

.

Is this man stupid! We can't cut any department or release one single employee because government must be strong to keep the people in line. Wouldn't it be great if we could bow before government just like we did in the past thousand years.

Argument from ignorance is your friend, I see. Show me a flat tax bill which bans deductions and exemptions.

Here's the thing. Ted Cruz is being extremely dishonest when he conveys the impression that it takes a "flat tax" to simplify taxes and "abolish the IRS".

He is also dishonest that a "flat tax" will guarantee your taxes will be simplified. It's a lie.

There are currently seven tax brackets, but even with that many you could fill out your taxes on a postcard.

What complicates the filing of taxes is not the number of tax brackets. What complicates taxes is the tens of thousands of exemptions, credits, and deductions.

You don't ever hear Ted Cruz say he would completely eliminate exemptions, credits, and deductions. And this means he would protect the favors industry that exchanges campaign cash for exemptions, credits and deductions for special interests.

Because even a "flat tax" will have exemptions, credits, and deductions unless they are specifically banned. You will still have to fill out a lot of forms to determine your eligibility for any of the thousands of exemptions, credits, or deductions.

And that means you will still need a massive IRS to handle the complexities of that system.

So don't be fooled by his bullshit that a "flat tax" will enable you to fill out your taxes on a postcard.

Actually, Lender & Bortz's "Fairtax" precisely did away with that and made tax collection an issue for the states.... there are alternatives, liberals like yourself just can't fathom the elimination of a fat, bloated federal bureaucracy that manages your life through tax policy.

There is nothing ignorant in letting you do your own research. Ignorance is you not researching these things for yourself but arguing about them.

An argument from ignorance is when one makes a claim and then does not support that claim when asked, believing the claim is true until proven false. This is a logical fallacy.

You have not supported your claim. At all.

Show me a Fair Tax Act which does not have exemptions, deductions, or credits.

I just provided one that does.
