The message of “two Americas” — the haves and have-nots — was central to the 2004 and 2008 presidential campaigns of John Edwards, a Democrat, who used the idea to connect with blue-collar and union workers.

Mr. Cruz had used the phrase “two Americas” before, in remarks to the Conservative Policy Summit in January. “John Edwards, in this respect, was right,” he said at the time.

Worse, in the last couple of weeks, I've seen Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul and others jump on the same bandwagon. What does it all mean???? ONE OF THE CORE REASONS THE GOP EXISTS IS TO CREATE INCOME INEQUALITY. Do Republicans really think this will work? If you are anti education, anti science, anti health care, anti unions, and anti infrastructure, then what you support will only make income inequality bigger. Who doesn't know that? Oh, sorry. I forgot.

It's not slashing help for the Middle Class and poor that's wrong. It's money going to investors rather than into R&D. Course, with R&D, you need educated people. No wonder Republicans are against it.

I can't see it as a winning policy for Cruz. His base believes income inequality proves some people work and others don't. Inheritance doesn't count and people working two or three minimum wage jobs are lazy.
