When Trump ran in 2016, he said he would drain the swamp and made sweeping promises AND used his own funds and thus, was beholding to neither major political party. I've always been an independent voter and when he ran in 2016, I considered him a buffoon and Hillary Clinton to be duplicitous *****, especially when she said, "what I tell the public and what I tell those in private, are two different things." Anyway, in 2016, I opted to vote for no presidential candidate.
After Trump completed his term as president, I reviewed his promises versus his accomplishments and saw that he had indeed kept his word on almost all of his campaign promises, something previous presidents weren't known for. So, in 2020, I voted for him.
Bottom line, the left is scared of an opponent that isn't a puppet of the career politicians and their Marxist goals.
