Oklahoma public schools open next week, but one new policy is already stirring national debate. The state is preparing to require an “America First” certification test for prospective teachers moving in from out-of-state, particularly from Democratic-leaning regions.


Targeted states are California, Maine and New York, claiming their educational standards are completely opposite of Oklahoma’s.

Will you be teaching about slavery? Then you can't teach in Oklahoma unless you teach the kids the slaves loved their masters and lived comfortable lives.

If you refuse to teach that America is a Christian nation, you can't teach in Oklahoma.
