Tariffs Hit Home.

Hyper-partisan diversions aside, the Trump sales tax is kicking in:

Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, said Trump’s tariffs are “too high” and it will raise prices on some items as Trump’s global trade war increases the company’s costs.
“We will do our best to keep our prices as low as possible. But given the magnitude of the tariffs, even at the reduced levels announced this week, we aren’t able to absorb all the pressure given the reality of narrow retail margins,” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said Thursday on an earnings call.
“The higher tariffs will result in higher prices,” he said...
The price hikes will begin later this month.
“I’m concerned that consumer is going to start seeing higher prices. You’ll begin to see that, likely towards the tail end of this month, and then certainly much more in June,” Walmart finance chief John David Rainey said...
Good. Maybe the mom and pop local stores can make a comeback.

Remember, Walmart used size and scale to bring cheap Chinese produced shit to every small town in America to push out the family owned stores that couldn’t compete with the cheap products. The tariffs not only force China into a bad position they also take away the advantages Walmart had to **** over the locals.

Let’s hope the tariffs level the playing field a bit. I personally don’t care if some Walmart stores get shut down and get replaced with good local locations.

all tariffs were paused, so he's lying.
All tarriffs were not paused but even if they were the market uncertainty caused by the convict's incompetent chaos is the main cause of inflation now.

Huh, why did you say that, lowest inflation since 2021, your reality is only yours.

Check back in a month and we'll see how this "lowest inflation rate since 2021" BS is aging ok?
So you post fake and then acknowledge it was. Hypocrite must be your name

Cry harder snowflake.
Trump knows how stupid and uninformed his MAGAt cult is which is why he's instructed corporations like Amazon and Wal Mart to keep dummys like you in the dark about how much his policies are costing you.
It's better if he can keep you cultists hopping around and clapping and barking like trained seals repeating BS like "lowest inflation since 2021" even though you know it isn't technically true.
The problem for Trump this month in trying to take credit for what he (and you) perceive as a little bit of "good" economic news is that now you're not going to be able to blame next month's news on anybody else.
You own it ALL now.

I know you are a sheep talking someone else’s talking points. You have never had a single post of your own

Where are these products manufactured? Never heard of them myself, my guess is they're not made in the U.S.

I was listening to Planet Money while driving between jobs the other day. One small business owner was going to have to pay $45,000 on her $30,000 order from the factory in China when the tariff was 145%. She got lucky and the blob caved right before her order hit the Port of NY. So she “only" had to pay $9,000 in taxes thanks to the flip-flop.

You don’t care if people lose their jobs and benefits.

Typical MAGA scum.

MAGAts don't seem to understand how his imcompetence is affecting world markets.

Good thing China caved

Good thing China caved
Aren't you a cute little cultist.
Hey Simp.....yea sure.....China caved and returned the tariff level right back to where Joe Biden had it.
You poor MAGAt lemmings.
Even when you think you've "won" you've still lost.

Reminds me of the joke:
How many MAGAts does it take to change a lightbulb?
None
Trump will just tell them he's already changed it and they'll all just sit around clapping in the dark.

Ahem, Creepy left on trump’s

What does that have to do with your previous post or my counter facts?

So you admit you lied
Please try to pay attention.
Beijing, measured and unyielding, has once again managed to outmaneuver a Trump administration boxed in by its own belligerence.
... the agreement reads as a reluctant American retreat from a tariff crusade that threatened to destabilize not just bilateral trade, but global economic equilibrium. It underscored a reality that many in Washington are reluctant to admit: Beijing has outplayed a belligerent but ultimately cornered Trump administration.

... Trump, evidently emboldened by his own mythos of disruption, had ramped up tariffs to an astonishing 145 percent on a broad swath of Chinese imports. China responded in kind, implementing symmetrical retaliatory measures — tariffs soaring to 125 percent and rare earth export curbs that sent American manufacturers scrambling. The result was a near paralysis of $600 billion in two-way trade, stoking recessionary fears and dislocating supply chains around the globe.
The Geneva statement, then, represents not just a cooling-off period, but an implicit concession — if not an outright defeat — for Washington’s maximalist tariff strategy.

Not sure what you think that actually says

This idiot is running the commerce department. His suggestion for avoiding banana tariffs is to build them in the US. The US produces virtually zero bananas for consumption.
