Tariffs have been re-established

^^
A few hours after the Supreme Court struck down Donald Trump's tariffs - 10% tariffs for 150 days were imposed across the board on most countries. Canada/Mexico excluded due to 2018 agreement.

Trump wins again.
Did tariffs get re-established at the same percentage as previously? Or are they capped to 15%?

There was never any doubt that tariffs would remain. All the SCOTUS really determined was not that a president has no say nor power over enacting tariffs just that Trump needed to do it one of several other ways other than via the current act he had been using.

And as icing on the cake, there is no possibility of refunding or giving the money back since no one is sure nor can agree who actually paid it and how!

All we know is that it did NOT lead to the huge inflationary consequences that the Left wailed would be the inevitable horrible result, but then, there's nothing new about democrats ending up being totally wrong about, well, everything.

Trump went from “10% on everyone plus 20–46% on our biggest trading partners” down to just “10% on everyone.” That’s a massive reduction in tariffs.

You think you're slick pretending the 34% on China, 20% on the EU, 46% on Vietnam didn't get cut significantly. That's why Trump is insulting his own judges.

Keep hope alive!

A Fox News survey found 63% of registered voters disapprove of Trump’s handling of tariffs, while only 37% approve.

90% of Trump’s tariffs are paid for by American consumers

Democrats had feared that SCOTUS upholding the Constitution would deprive them of a formidable weapon against Republicans in November, but Trump is coming through for them!

Good post...

For now. The SCOTUS decision was just today. Besides, even if he charges 1% tariff, that is 1% more than anyone would be paying if Biden, Harris or any other democrat were in office, and none of that changes the fact that you were also wrong about it causing a massive spike in inflation, just as you are wrong about ICE, and the horrors of deporting people who don't even belong here in the first place telling us how vital and important illegal immigrants are and how they built the fricking country, blah, blah, blah.

Everyone is on to everything coming out of your mouth being nothing but horseshit.

Yet through itinerant stupidity, you still think you are slick somehow always trying to make this about Trump when it is just further condemnation against you. Events of the past year have proven you wrong and vindicated both Trump and tariffs. They've been working great, about 10,000% better than anything Biden or any democrat has done in years.

So, I wonder whether the farmers will still be able to be paid off for Chump's idiocies losing them their markets, with the proceeds from the extra consumer tax Americans have had to pay.

Couple things toob: the new tariffs are global, right? So, a tariff on everything that was imported? And 10% is a lot lower than it was, plus it's only good for 150 days. Wonder what he'll do when the 150 days are up? Extend them somehow maybe.

As you say, his tariffs did not lead to serious inflation, I think mostly cuz the end result was a lot lower than it appeared on Liberation Day. Were we not told the tariffs would raise around $500 billion in the 1st year? Actually, it was somewhere around $280 billion so the impact on inflation wasn't much. Trump played it up as a big deal, but it really wasn't. My opinion is, we got played.

We'll find out. I'm sure Trump will be aiming to ramp them up higher for a lot longer; will probably get Congress involved.

My opinion is that as usual, things with Trump didn't pan out as much as they could have if not for democrat obstruction.

Same with the economy: these two shutdowns by the dems is costing the economy trillions of dollars. Next up: democrats, after slowing the recovery from what it should have been just to make Trump look bad will next use that to attack him on saying it is HIS failure they obstructed!

A 10% tax hike on stuff you buy.

And you call that a win.

If you had a brain, you'd be dangerous.

If he had done this like an intelligent adult, the approvals on it would have been 90%. Surgically optimizing trade agreements -- good idea. An easy win. There would have been full congressional approval. The SC would never have been needed. The world would not be turning its back on us. American businesses would be able to forecast and plan as well as ever.

But no.

He had to insult, mock, troll, namecall, threaten, intimidate, and constantly change the numbers whenever someone hurt his feelings. Constant, juvenile chaos is all he understands. It didn't even OCCUR to him that ALL of this could have been quietly done behind closed doors by competent, intelligent, mature professionals in two or three months. He doesn't know.

Because he is a fuckin' unwell child. America isn't even a laughingstock any more. We're a disgrace.

Ordinarily, that might be an accomplishment, but outsmarting jackasses on the Left is hardly a notable accomplishment, more of a natural consequence in the absence of cheating.
toobfreak felt embarrassed when I taught him the 46% tariffs are now 10%. I asked him to talk about that. He dodged to avoid depression.

It wasn’ta hike. The tax was always there at more than 10%. Westwall and toobfreak had to stop masturbating with excitement when I gave them the news
