The 10% wasn’t added. It was acrually a tax deduction:
∙ China — was as high as 145%, then negotiated down to ~20%. Now 10%.
∙ European Union — 20%. Now 10%.
∙ Vietnam — 46%. Now 10%.
∙ Cambodia — 49%. Now 10%.
∙ India — 26%, then Trump doubled it to 50% as a “punishment.” Now 10%.
∙ Taiwan — 32%. Now 10%.
∙ South Korea — 25%. Now 10%.
∙ Japan — 24%, negotiated down to 15% in a deal. Now 10%.
∙ Thailand — 36%. Now 10%.
∙ Indonesia — 32%, negotiated to 19%. Now 10%.
∙ Bangladesh — 37%. Now 10%.
∙ Brazil — had an additional 40% tariff slapped on. Now 10%.
∙ Algeria, Angola, and dozens of African nations — 30-32%. Now 10%.
Countries that stay at 10% — basically Australia, UK (already had a deal), and a handful of smaller partners with no trade surplus.
So the guy you’re arguing with is essentially celebrating that the floor didn’t move while ignoring that the entire ceiling collapsed. The countries that actually drive U.S. trade — China, EU, the big Asian exporters — all just got massive tariff relief whether Trump wanted to give it to them or not.

For now. The SCOTUS decision was just today. Besides, even if he charges 1% tariff, that is 1% more than anyone would be paying if Biden, Harris or any other democrat were in office, and none of that changes the fact that you were also wrong about it causing a massive spike in inflation, just as you are wrong about ICE, and the horrors of deporting people who don't even belong here in the first place telling us how vital and important illegal immigrants are and how they built the fricking country, blah, blah, blah.

I just had my head handed to me by a very knowledgeable military guy in an exchange over the feasibility future carrier groups. Most of the information available on the net these days indicates that the aircraft carriers are nothing more than giant targets for the new generation of missiles. According to Mushroom, who seems to have a vast array of knowledge on the subject, that is all propaganda and largely untrue. But once again how is one supposed to know these things if the entire internet is speaking uniformly on the subject?

Likewise with the tariffs.....it's all negative publicity even though it shouldn't be.

Trump went from “10% on everyone plus 20–46% on our biggest trading partners” down to just “10% on everyone.” That’s a massive reduction in tariffs.

You think you're slick pretending the 34% on China, 20% on the EU, 46% on Vietnam didn't get cut significantly. That's why Trump is insulting his own judges.

He's mad because now all of those businesses don't have to pay him to exclude them from the taxes.

Money that will be seized from him, and his crime family after he leaves office.

And it's just 224 days until the midterms.

We seen this vary shift when the Biden "handlers" shifted tactics after the SCOTUS student loan decision.

In both cases the administration complied with the specific ruling (stopped using the invalidated statute) but immediately used other pre-existing congressional delegations in the same policy area to pursue nearly identical goals. In both cases, the presidents followed the court's rule by stopping the one way the court said was wrong, but then quickly found other old rules to keep doing almost the same thing they wanted. It's like when the teacher says "no cookies from this jar," so you grab some from a different jar instead!
