talking of Africa, what do you think of?

I think of failure.

I have to agree. Very sad.


I'm old enough that I recall some lingering optimism that decolonization would lead to an.... increase in African growth and developement since you didn't have A. imperial profits being extracted, or B. the layer of useless white people overseeing the work the blacks were doing while taking a cut they did not deserve.


It was already fading by the time I came along and now... wow.

When I was a youngster, the only thing we cared about Africa were the pictures of big floppy titties in the National Geographic magazines.

i lived in a somewhat boring area and read a lot.Maybe too much.
