Afghans are taking back their country. It's not like we couldn't see this happening for years. They have been who they are for centuries. Waiting out the U.S. was nothing.
Whenever we leave its going to be a mess.
I sometimes wonder if we shouldn't depend on the Chinese in this situation. They share a long border with Afghanistan and have been pretty successful with soft power investment.
They built a railroad and some power plants which has spawned some small businesses across the north. Then there is some shared heritage in the Hanzara minority .. Turkic, Mongolian and Persian..
And given Chinas stated goal of taking over the world Surada-----and they wanting to use Afghans minerals to such an end don't you think that would put the US in long term harms way.
