Yes, folks, that is true. No point in denial.
When the nationalists lost to the communists they fled to the Taiwan Island and made it their own country, the Republic of China on Taiwan, which is still the official name of Taiwan, although not used anymore. Only 15 countries recognize "Taiwan". The USA does not, since 1979 it does not.

What´s your two cent?

China wouldn't give a damn about Taiwan if it weren't for the fact that they are prosperous and successful and achieved all that on their own. China wants to take their wealth and technology. Computer chip manufacturing there
is the most advanced.
China owns the vast mainland that you can clearly see. They can let a tiny Island go. The USA does recognize Taiwan.

Its not China's to let go, and it never really was, it was ceded to Japan in 1895, before that, China had simply annexed it in the late 1600's, at no time in the last 120 years has China ever had any claim upon Formosa. Japan has a significantly greater claim upon it than China ever will, and Japan supports Taiwan as a nation, Taiwan is an independent nation, and it is well worth going to war with China to ensure it stays exactly that, an independent nation!

Oh, wait, if Trumpers would have went to Hawaii and declared it their own American country, the US would still consider it being part of the States.
As for the US recognizing Taiwan, there was a Pompeo statement. Yes, there was, it does not exit anymore and it didn´t recognize Taiwan:

"Today’s statement recognizes that the U.S.-Taiwan relationship need not, and should not, be shackled by self-imposed restrictions of our permanent bureaucracy."

The link above leads to a 404 note.
It exists as non-current, archived statement:

My 2 cents is that you certainly do oppose that concept that appears just under your user name.
Whether Taiwan belongs to China or not is not a matter of ideology. And the current conflict isn´t as well. It is economic. China will remember the shit that is going on today.

China is going to claim ANY COUNTRY in the Asian territories as THEIRS, if they have any dealings with the USA.

Jinping doesn't give a shit about any of the other countries that China used to "own".......because they have no dealings with the USA.
Actually not. China has released an official white book. They claim what is theirs and nothing more. They promise there will be no kind of imperialism or something like that.

By that logic then, when we broke off from England to form the USA, we were still a republic of Great Britain and the UK can reclaim us at any time.

And that is what the Empire thought and it sent its troops. You know?
He means in today time the U.K. can still claim the U.S. as it own with your way of thinking…

Japan has more rights to Taiwan than China, and China Government is lying if they claim they are against Imperialism and want to dominate the entire Universe if they can…

It is easy to claim. So many German immigrants. We claim. The Brits claim, the Indians claim, even the buffalos.

And what if the Mongols claim?

And you have no insight into Chinese greater policy. You can´t assume and treat it as a fact.

They are wanting to build military bases around the world, so let stop pretending they are not looking to make themselves as a Empire that will rule the Universe…

So as you sit there and lie about China true intent it has been known for decades that China wish is to dominate the World from Economic to controlling the Oceans we travel on.

You are building military bases around the world and you are claiming the space:

"President Bush has signed a new National Space Policy that rejects future arms-control agreements that might limit U.S. flexibility in space and asserts a right to deny access to space to anyone "hostile to U.S. interests.""
