I'd like it to happen, but CA has had three republican governors in the last 40 years or so--Deukmejian, Wilson and Schwarzenegger and while their was some beneficial legislation that was long overdue, by and large they were just democrat apologists.

Yes, very good point. I don't know which Republicans are in the race, but they will probably have to sound like Republicans, but with many of the old school Democratic policies to win the race.

So they will oppose the men in girls bathrooms and CGM (child genital mutilation), but not want to cut spending or taxes.
