In the United States minors can't consent to medical procedures.

The schools can't even give a kid an aspirin without parental consent. But they can order the parents to allow gender affirming care or just not tell the parents they are providing that for the kids?

It's nuts.

But I thought that line was drawn a long time ago: Until a kid reaches 18, they are a ward of their parents. If the parents agree to a gender change and it is medically viable, just because I might not agree with the decision does not give me the right to force my will over theirs.

The only way I might intervene is if the kid's age were a factor in affecting the outcome, there was a record of psychological considerations, or there was reason to doubt the doctor or the procedure itself.

A good idea is letting adults decide what to do with this to themselves, and tell kids "hey, don't mutilate and drug yourselves"

No argument here. I originally said I don't agree with any of this, you should wait until 18 for a gender change, IMO, but I understand some may have other considerations and feel it better to do it during onset of puberty.

It is the before puberty stuff I really don't get as gender identity is about puberty, so how can you want to change something as wrong before you even have it yet?

No minor boy ever died because he was refused the opportunity to have his nads chopped off when he said he "identified" as a chick.

And if they did, they went out in either one self-inflicted way or another. All that I can about people like them is if they think that such a situation is the worst one that a person can be in the middle of, how do we label what is going on with the rest of the planet's population? You got homelessness, murder, rape, deadly inoperable illnesses, etc. The list goes on.
