That right there should bother everybody, but nobody knows the history of that era to notice this passage is problematic.
1) Because The Temple Grounds were acceptable in use during high holidays for accommodating the high flow of people from all over, thus "the money changers" for the tourists currency exchange, and trade tables at the surrounding courtyard were liken to our stadium vendors during games and Beach tables and booths on the beaches during spring break. If you were to " overturn" the tables at any such accommodation you would be the Tesla protester type radical irrational hothead protester criminal & sinner =in the wrong.
2) HISTORICALLY The story of Jesus overturning the tables at the temple comes from the story of Yehuda the Galionite
who was a thief & murderer who "ransacked" the temple & was sometimes confused with
Yehuda the Galilean Christ figure (similar described name) who is used for your Christ at the time of Herod and Lysanias era. These confused characters were used for the Jesus & Jesus Barabbas story.

Lovely .
A Fake News topic with respective Cultists arguing details about the poor Essene Monk who wanted no church and no formalised religion .

Variations on the theme of --- My Goddy Boy is greater / mightier etc than your Goddy Boy

bad reply, it did nothing to refute the topic, my point stands, it does not disturb you for the right reasons, it only disturbs the frail human ego thus similar to the Tesla protesters who only hate because of pride and being incited to hate.

More to the point---the Romans has an interest in the money changers who were ---like the tax collectors, Roman appointees---
a pork (excuse the expression) barrel job---ALSO---"during high holy
holidays"? really? no wonder the Pharisees WANTED THEM OUT

Is there a link that was mistakenly left out? (video, article, etc)

They didn't have internet and video back then, even though he was claimed god he couldn't create an apple phone, otherwise the story would be about overturning the Apple Store Display cases.

Sources: Book of Acts accounts christ Yehuda(the Galilean died in 6bc), Lysanias the Patriarch died in 35bc, Herod 4bc therefore can't be in the story of a AD Pilate era figure (Theudas by the Jordan River Christ also mentioned in Acts), but can be in the story of Yehuda the Galilean Christ figure.

The Galilean christ tax revolter Yehuda in the time of Herod was hated by Rome for his revolt but also the people Josephus wrote were bullied by Yehuda and his followers, if they paid the tax the flock would burn down their house or rob them
.
NOTE: Luke mentions him once, in
Acts 5:37, and Josephus several times, once here, sect. 6; and B. XX. ch. 5. sect. 2; Of the War, B. II. ch. 8. sect. 1; and ch. 17. sect. 8, calls this Judas, who was the pestilent author of that seditious doctrine and temper which brought the Jewish nation to utter destruction, a Galilean; but here (sect. 1) Josephus calls him a Gaulonite, of the city of Gamala; it is a great question where this Judas was born, whether in Galilee on the west side, or in Gaulonitis on the east side, of the river Jordan; while, in the place just now cited out of the Antiquities, B. XX. ch. 5. sect. 2, he is not only called a Galilean, but it is added to his story, "as I have signified in the books that go before these," as if he had still called him a Galilean in those Antiquities before, as well as in that particular place, as Dean Aldrich observes, Of the War, B. II. ch. 8. sect. 1.

It is interesting that they would keep in this “ story” when they created the compiled( more then one individual ) Jesus character … The story appeals to many people because it seems to portray him “ overturning “ or rebelling against authority but that is only because the story is one sided and the practises of the Jews are demonized in much of the New Testament with no chance of rebuttal because Jews were ostracized and kept to the fringes of society… Even if we explain the reasons for the need for money changers it will still be mostly misunderstood or demonized …Interestingly churches today pass around their Colection plates and collect money in what is supposed to be their holy place without any problems… I have even heard it is common practise in some churches in Los Vegas to accept Casino chips so really this is just a case of what is good for the goose is not good for the gander in typical twisted logic of do what Zi say but not do what I do…

yeah, it's not like they had it inside the holy of holies, then there would be a beef, but throwing a hissy fit destroying property would never be acceptable behavior even if it was that disrespectful.
This is why the story reminds me of how leftist Radicals try to justify their destructive behavior, like the funny but disturbing vids of pro abortionists flipping pro life tables.

Good points … I myself find the story shows the typical and total misunderstanding of the Hebrew concepts that have over the years only gotten worse because of really lousy teachings that permeate not just the New Testament but the ones pushing its narrative… Whoever placed that story in there showed contempt for practises that were sound in their reasonings but like we have said before no one was able to explain anything years after the fact and any who would have tried would have been marginalized in one form or another…Of course in true Roman fashion( plagerizing copying and taking ideas for themselves) Most churches have taken these ideas for themselves in a sneaky , clever way while winking how bad the Jews were…Sorry to repeat but there are so many mistaken concepts that ai am afraid they go in one ear and out the other to say the least…
