Anyone who wishes to engage in good faith debate with the Parkland students is at liberty to do so, no one takes issue with that.
But that’s not what most on the right are doing.
Most on the right are attacking and attempting to vilify the students in an effort to intimidate them.
Examples:
The lie from the right that the students are ‘crisis actors.’
The lie from the right that the students are ‘dupes’ of the Democrats.
The lie from the right that the student demonstrations are being ‘orchestrated’ by ‘liberals.’
The lie from the right that some of the student demonstrators weren’t at the school during the shooting.
The lie from the right that the students are ‘anti-Second Amendment.’
And the false, contrived video of Emma Gonzales ‘ripping up’ the Constitution.
This is not good faith debate on the part of conservatives – these are the usual lies and attacks contrived by cowards on the right who are incapable of, or are unwilling to, respond intelligently.
It is therefore perfectly appropriate and warranted to denounce and oppose conservatives attacking the students in an effort to vilify and intimidate them.
