Stop blaming the banks for the meltdown!!!

80% of the subprimes were written by unregulated buisinesses.

actually Fanny Freddie controlled entire market. THey set standards that everyone followed. It is true they they took many of the safer mortgages in the 1990s , but this only forced the others to go lower and lower into sub prime. THen Fanny Freddie had to do the same and did to keep its volume up.

Fanny Freddie were designed by liberals to get mortgages for those the Republican free market would deny!! This is the only rational conclusion. Fanny Freddie existed only as long as it met the liberals affordable housing goals.

Awww The poor things, they were forced by competition to take subprime loans. Poor widdle things.

The prime culprit was greed, from the bankers to every in between to the lender. We are in this mess because we all got greedy as a people and as businesses and as buyers. Let's be honest, folks.

wrong wrong wrong!! Human beings did not change. They are always greedy, and of course you can't legislate a personality change. What changed is that liberals created Fanny Freddie to circumvent the free Republican market which correctly denied many people homes. The solution is to go back to a Republican free market.

Go back to something we have never had?

I gave you the summary of "Reckless Endangerment" the definitive treatment of the crisis. No liberal will dare say Fanny Freddie was not the elephant in the room that caused the crisis.

greed overtook every other goal. Sad part is, the banksters made out like bandits. The stock market is still > 10K and luxury goods are flying off of the shelves. The Randian way ;) Greenspan knew Rand.

Republican free market? Are you crazy? We have plenty of good things going for us, but don't ever claim we are not big government regulators or super rewarders to our crony capitalists. All of which has to come to an end.

are you trying to say the Republican free market is crazy????

He is saying that the Republicans don't practice what they preach in regards to the free market and he is correct.

Sad part is, the banksters made out like bandits.

except for all those that went bankrupt you mean!! The survivors like Citi bank and B of A are on the ropes still. THey are laying off 30,000. Its been in all the papers.

I never expected a coherent response from Randians.

There was nothing incoherent about what I asked you. The question was very forward and to the point. You won't answer it because it will partially contradict your original premise. You aren't interested in the truth; you just want to be a dishonest, attention whoring dickhole.

how can the Republicans practice what they preach when they don't control the government??? You must think before you post!!

No, they aren't laying off 30,000. They are eliminating 30,000 positions.

I guess 2001 to 2007 never happened. You must think before you post!!

so lets see, many went bankrupt and the main survivor is eliminating 30,000 jobs and the banksters made out like bandits?? Seems like you need a new way to look at it

Are you seriously suggesting that someone who buys a house they can't afford has absolutely no responsibility for their predicament whatsoever?

The financial institutions didn't care. Why do you think they were signing foreclosure notices w/ auto-pens :eusa_eh: They got their fee's and their riding high as ever at the expense of t-party 'merka. The demand for luxury goods and the stock market are "managing" ;) Wall St thanks you. These are the same people Boehner is referring to as the "job-creators" LOLOL
in Africa they hunt monkeys by hollowing out a hole in a tree.then they place a piece of fruit inside the tree .the monkey sticks his hand into the hole and grabs the fruit ,but with his hand around the fruit his hand is to large to pull out of the hole !! so the poor ape freaks out !! then a negro with a club walks up to the ape and bashes his stupid greedy brains out !! all the monkey had to do was let go of the fruit and his hand would have been small enough to pull out of the hole, but it's greed for something yummy overwhelmed common sense so the animal died !! when you finance something you need to use common sense and not get caught with payments you can't handle !! GREEDY MONKEYS CAUSED THE CRASH !!:lol::lol:

I was referring to the person who posted after you. You're pretty reasonable.

HEY EVERYONE!!! I mean conservatives, don't read the book I'm currently reading-0 Griftopia- because your head might explode after waht is revealed about Rand, Greenspan, Reagan, etc... Just an FYI ;)

P.S.- I got the book at the library. Better go there quick before the Repubs/T-partiers shut down your local branch in lieu of making millionaires/billionaires pay the same % of their income as the middle-class do.

You're dodging my question.

That'll be because the honest answer is a tad inconvenient and would require criticism of the party!

Party before country is the acceptable way of the Democrats now.

The question was not asked of me, but I'll offer an answer. Banks, mortgage brokers and agents didn't care if the buyer could make payments on the home, if someone could qualify they approved the loan - even if the loan application was fudged (many times with the help of the banker, broker, agent). When the loan was approved the mortgage was sold.

Anyone who has gone through a loan process knows how the process goes. The notary speeds though three inches of documents, giving brief explanations of each page and saying sign here, initial here, here and here and put the date here, here and here.

Most of us buy a home only a few times in our lifetime, and bankers, brokers and agents go through this process regularly. Suggesting these 'professionals' are not culpable is utter bullshit and one more of the many lies conservatives pass to justify what truly is white collar crime.
