Stocks extended losses by mid-afternoon Tuesday in a weaker start to November as uncertainty over the upcoming presidential election weighed on Wall Street. The S&P 500 was down 1.3%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.1%, and the Nasdaq declined 1.4%. The S&P 500 has fallen for the past six sessions. Conflicting polls created uncertainty over the outcome of the U.S. presidential election.
