Steward Rhodes charged with seditious conspiracy

Key phrase in the statue is "by force" There was no force in the kavanaugh protests. No one broke into the Capitol. No one broke into the Supreme Court. There was no guns or other weapons, no property damage, no one was seriously injured and there were no deaths. There was no real delay in Kavanugh hearings. McConnell called a recess for lunch.

On Jan 6, the confirmation was delayed 8 hours, due to insurgents entering the Capitol by force banishing weapons, terrorizing guards and congressmen resulting in over a hundred injuries and 3 deaths.
Don't try to talk specific events only for political purposes, otherwise let's address it all going back to 2016 and before. Violence in the name of political agendas have been playing out all over this country ever since that date, but of course you choose to put your political blinders on in hopes to get orangeman bad in someway somehow.

Many were arrested during Kavanaugh. So laws were broken just like they were Jan 6th. Breaking the law is breaking the law.
But not for seditious conspiracy. At the Kavanaugh hearings several hundred people were arrested for unlawfully demonstrating which is a misdemeanor with a penalty of a fine no more than $250 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days. Typically charges are dropped after the person is held up to 24 hrs.

The topic of this thread is about the charging of Steward Rhodes with seditious conspiracy for leading an armed attack breaking into the US Capital for the purpose of overturning the election. If you want to address all the other attacks on the US government to overturn elections since 2016, I 'll be happy to discuss it but not in this tread as that would be off topic.

Until a few days ago, there were no charges of "seditious conspiracy" with respect to Jan 6. Those charges were filed only because Republicans pointed out that no one had been charged with insurrection whenever prog douchebags claimed it was an insurrection. The charges will be thrown out, of course. I think only one person has ever been prosecuted successfully for sedition.

^^^ bookmarked

And not all crimes are the same. Some are about protesting while some others are about sedition.
Kavanaugh protesters were arrested for illegal protesting, a misdemeanor with a penalty of a $250 fine most of whom were released with charges dropped. Rhodes was arrested and charged with seditious conspiracy, specifically "conspiring to oppose by force the lawful transfer of presidential power”, a felony with a minimum penalty of 5 years in a federal a prison.

Up to 20 years. But who's counting.

LOL....but, as I said earlier, they broke the law.

Your hysteria with Trump precludes your rationality.

Tell me, did both incidents result in people who broke the law?

Nope, not off topic... Just something you and the left avoid because it contradicts your narratives in a way that makes you look like a bunch of complete hypocrites. You can't stab the knife into Trump without turning it onto yourselves also, so deflect, distract, and obscure, otherwise rinse and repeat.

Stop dragging Trump into everything. Leave that poor carnival barker alone. Also, sorry, you didn't start this topic so you don't get to change it, twinkletoes.

stop listening to tucker carlson.

What was his plan ? To save America from an injustice that he truly believed was taking place ?

Still no proof that he ordered a violent attack on the nation's Capital on 1/6th, and so what if he was planning on creating a path that is legal and officially sanctioned in order to continue to investigate the election, otherwise to invite participation in a plan to expose the corruption of those who were alledgedly attempting to steal the election, and then the administration doing so within a legal framework, and within an orderly fashion, and also doing so in an official manor (challenging the results if were illegal possibly?)

Go challenge the legality of Trump's administration then questioning and investigating the 2020 election, and if you find that he or his administration did something illegal, well then come back and run your mouth about it. Other than that you have nothing but political motives involved, and that serves this COUNTRY in the worst way's imaginable. Already proven.

So many times now, you all have taken something and spun it into something different that what it is in order to claim we've got him now... It's really ridiculous.
