King became formulaic after "The Shining".
Should have quit while he was ahead.

Once they become Limousine Liberals it seems like they all go bat shit crazy.Trump broke him.
He was always a liberal, but a normal one.
After Trump he goes on Twitter tirades, always-always manages to throw Trump in any interview he does etc.
And he has lost his writing magic. There is only so much in the tank.
I don't believe he will ever write another Stand/Misery etc. ever again.

He was a Socialist leaning ElitistOne of the few who's work was WAY better while he was drunk and on drugs.
Reminds me of the line from a song - "I am the life of the party as long as I am buying".Once they become Limousine Liberals it seems like they all go bat shit crazy.

.Yes, but he wrote good shit when he was drunk and high.
.
I never paid attention to his personal and chemical life, so I couldn't say I agree.

I agree. The Stand was a great book. The Stand is one of the best Fiction books of the 20th century.
I would think in the top 1000 books in the 20th century, he probably at least has a couple.
But after the 2010s... meh.
The Stand is the only work of King's that anyone need read.
I read it every few years...
Misery is not a major piece of work like The Stand. but it is very good story. The Stand is the only work of King's that anyone need read.

Hard to believe the big bad villain in The Stand is the U.S. government's "scientists", like Anthony Fauci.
Now, King would gladly get on his knees and blow Fauci on command.
That's what leftism does to peoples' brains.
Misery is not a major piece of work like The Stand. but it is very good story.
King back in the day wrote probably 10 real good reads, the other 55 range from okay to nutty/whacko nonsense.
Koontz took his place
Misery was disturbingly good.
I remember reading Salem's Lot... it scared me in the middle of the day.
The early Bachman Books were very good as well.
He cannot. Are you capable of posting w/o being a dick?
Was “ Wolfen “ based on one of his stories ?Saloms Lot
