So you're telling me that Nikki never had surgery, was not diagnosed with cancer, and has not hired a personal injury lawyer after the lab informed her she never had cancer and that her sample was cross contaminated?such a diagnosis isn’t made without a slew of diagnostic testing. I don’t know what the “sample” you speak of was. A biopsy? Blood work? Whatever it was there’s tons of other testing done concurrently.
So a lab specimen was contaminated? None of the other testing would corroborate this. What about the MRI? What about cancer blood markers? What about tissue samples? Unless they were all contaminated as well, your story makes no sense
Those are the best ones.He needs to get himself a good Obamacare Doctor
Thank you. The experts that feed and nurture the pharmaceutical industry would never steer us wrong right? We should all just line up to be part of the walking dead so golf carts, second homes, and exotic vacations for doctors can be available. Those statins and their side effects are the least we can do to keep this going. Yahoo!
Either that or you misheard/misunderstood the story and left out some vital partsSo you're telling me that Nikki never had surgery, was not diagnosed with cancer, and has not hired a personal injury lawyer after the lab informed her she never had cancer and that her sample was cross contaminated?
That she and Jeff just made up this story for me?
OK, you go with that.
Arsenic in large amounts is good for you RW.I always take medical advice of people on the internet over what my Doctor tells me
I don't know about all that, I'm only repeating what happened, what I wrote is all I know. She just got out of the hospital 3-4 weeks ago. If it was me, and I never smoked before (I think it possible she used to smoke, don't know) and lets say I never smoked, I would be doubly skeptical of lung cancer. I know second opinions are mandatory for me.Either that or you misheard/misunderstood the story and left out some vital parts
Cause the sequence of events you have make no sense
If she really never had cancer, then all the other tests would not have lined up with whatever the single contaminated sample was

You can believe that if you want. Why would I care what you think? The most likely scenario is that you made the whole thing up and do not know enough about how things work to even make up a good story
Alternatively you can try those first, and then if it doesn't work, listen to the doc...Statins are potentially ghastly medication with very harmful side effects .
You can sensibly and adequately research matters in half an hour online .
There are many natural 100% safe and effective ways to lower cholestrol without swallowing poison .
Pretty sure the ones that helped Biden's uncle out still have a practice. He needs to get himself a good Obamacare Doctor
So, I get this new doctor at the Medical Center who seems ok but is telling me to take statins. Blood tests reveal that my thyroid is underactive which is causing LDL cholesterol to rise. I am going to go out on a limb and surmise that the doctor knows about: drumroll-the Framingham Study-Yahoo! Big studies are huge in the medical industry. They are like the Hoola Hoop craze of the 1960's. Nobody knows why citizens across the country went bananas over a closed piece of plastic stapled together joining a tube into a circle but it happened. I actually saw that happen! I even got one! So, should I just blindly follow what the doctor says and start taking statins? Not so fast, grasshopper.
You probably know local citizens in Keene who are more than willing to cut off another leg so they can keep smoking and drinking. There are many citizens like this in the city and some of them are in city government and embedded in local media. The city lifestyle is typical of people who live fast and die young. The young doctor may think I am one of those people. I told the doctor I am not one of those people but he may think I am selling him a bill of goods. Anyway, I am nearly 80 years old so certain changes will occurr metabolically and I accept this. If my thyroid is underactive like it is then my typical blood pressure of 86/54 could be an issue although I feel fine.
I did gain some weight last year but I have lost it since March when I got the bloodwork. I ride my bike all over Swanzey NH 40-50 miles a day. I go to a gym every day to keep bone density in order. There is only one marker a little off on the thyroid numbers and my sister has thyroid issues so there could be genetic component lurking here. The total cholesterol readings do not concern me at all. What does concern me is that the Framingham Study is misleading and there is no solid evidence that taking statins does anything to protect anyone from heart disease. Statins have some kind of interraction with the liver to lower LDL cholesterol but that cholesterol has a very weak connection with heart disease. Check the actuarial tables and you will see that those taking statins die from heart attacks and strokes at levels the same as those who do not. So, statins have the same effectiveness as snake oil which is why I am not taking them.
I notified the doctor that I will participate in a clinical trial to bolster my research that statins are worthless. I am 5'5 and weigh 126 pounds. My waist is 29 inches which is larger than 28 inches when I could run a 10k close to 30 minutes in 1985. I never stopped living a healthy lifestyle and I am comfortable with my decision to avoid statins. I am doing my own clinical trial now not just for me but for you as well.
Carry on,
Ray

There's another option; educate yourself. Not easy as most of what you need to know isn't easy to find.I always take medical advice of people on the internet over what my Doctor tells me

If you have no serious side effects, great. But if you do you are trading quality of life for a little more longevity.Great idea. Do your own research. Obviously, some anonymous poster on the internet knows more than a trained doctor who completed med school, and then passed the board exam. Heart patients who take statins do die, but just not as fast as those who don't take them.
I'm talking about real medical science that doctors prefer you not know about, else they would preach it whenever you visit them.I still trust an educated medical professional over some pseudoscience on the internet
