States that will be hardest hit when ACA subsidies lapse

Middle of the night? It captured the non-stop attention of the nation for months. The ACA's passage was headline news for days. Preceded by negotiations with the bipartisan "Gang of Six" and multiple attempts by Obama to get R input in the process.

Obama Holds Health Summit at White House

:laughing0301: Yeah, yeah, that's why Nancy said that we have to pass it to see what's in it.
Bipartisan? Democrats and insurance companies wrote the damn thing. behind closed doors.

???
That's not an abnormal thing?
It was put into place with the expectation (or actually, need) that it would be extended. Where was this kind of question about the Trump Tax cuts? and isn't that funny how Trump's original tax cuts were set to expire right after what would have been two terms served?

Trump has proposed a concept of a plan for healthcare. They told you they had something in the works, and they don't have anything. They don't care about the large amounts of their own voters that will be negatively affected by these subsidy expirations. They don't have to care, because all of you will just blame it on the democrats.

It's like with the One Big Beautiful bill. They cut taxes for elite wealth, they raised the deficit by a large amount, and they said, repeatedly, that healthcare cuts would not come. Well to pay for it they have relied heavily on cuts to Medicaid and ACA. They also justified it by saying that they would kick illegal immigrants off federal healthcare to pay for it...guess what, illegal immigrants were already not elligible for receiving free federal healthcare....They are just lying constantly, and the average republican voter will be hurt by it.

You also have to understand that the ACA has worked against Republicans who want to see it do badly. They don't want Obamacare to succeed. So whatever success it does have, it's done it aginst Republicans trying to see it die from the offset. And by doing this, Republicans can somehow place the entire blame of the major healthcare issue in America on Democrats?

There is a reason you are the party of leopards eating your face. It's selfish politics, where you don't care about anything unless it negatively affects you directly.
Wow! Long winded for a dodge. :rolleyes-41:

These are all republican controlled states.

Alabama: 456,972 enrollees
Florida: 4,565,216 enrollees
Georgia: 1,475,623 enrollees
Mississippi: 322,788 enrollees
North Carolina: 924,168 enrollees
South Carolina: 608,325 enrollees
Tennessee: 615,828 enrollees
Texas: 3,814,112 enrollees
Utah: 410,339 enrollees
Wyoming: 45,107 enrollees

Why do republicans not want to take care of their citizens?

Must be why your Dimwinger Cult wrote the sunset into the bill, huh Creepypuss?

Financial investment site, The Motley Fool, also listed these states and offers reason why they are hit the hardest:

Where most subsidy recipients live

More than half of the current 24 million enrollees receiving subsidies live in a handful of states. Southern states have a higher-than-average share of subsidy recipients because most of these states chose not to expand Medicaid coverage as part of the 2010 ACA or the 2021 American Rescue Act, despite having the federal support they needed to do so. In those states that decided not to expand Medicaid, the ACA marketplace became a crucial source of health insurance for low-income residents.
