State Department and Pentagon order all families of American troops and diplomats to leave Turkey, this is from today Tuesday.

I've not noticed any previous thread about this? So is this in anticipation that something NOT good is about to happen involving Turkey?

Pentagon and State Department order families of U.S. troops and diplomats to leave Turkey

"The United States will withdraw virtually all family members of U.S. troops and diplomats from its installations in Turkey, U.S. officials said Tuesday, citing security concerns as the campaign against the Islamic State continues.

The military decision was announced on the blog for U.S. European Command, which also instituted travel restrictions in Brussels last week after a terrorist attack killed 38 people, including three suicide bombers. At least four Americans were killed and about a dozen more were wounded, including an Air Force officer who was stationed in Europe and members of his family.

In a separate advisory, the State Department said it had ordered the departure of family members of officials posted to the U.S. consulate in Adana, near the Mediterranean coast in south-central Turkey and in Izmir and Mugla provinces on the western coast. Official travel in Turkey has been restricted to “mission critical” only. The advisory warns that foreign and U.S. tourists have been “explicitly targeted” by terrorist organizations, and should avoid any travel “in close proximity to the Syrian border.”

Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said about 670 people will be affected by the move, while about 100 more in Ankara and Istanbul will be allowed to stay. The decision was made due to an “abundance of caution” based on threats in the region, he said."

Erdogan is pretty mad now: Germans mocked him in their new song. He has even warned German ambassadors.

Yes I heard this, he's a complete psychopath, of course he sends Turkish journalists to prison for criticising him, so it's to be expected.

I wouldn't actually care if President Putin just carpet-bombed Turkey to shut Erdogan up....I don't even think Washington DC or Europa would give a crap. Turkey should have been thrown out of NATO around 2002 and in fact NATO has pretty much told Ankara that if they got into situation with Russia they'd be on their own.

Erdogan also twice has said he wants to "reclaim" Jerusalem....yes that would be great, a HUGE shitstorm would ensue, but he's so crazy he doesn't care. He wants to recreate The Ottoman Empire and has referred to himself as the new "Sultan"

Erdogan, friend of ISIL/ISIS/Daesh and blackmailing Europa with his "give me more billions or I'll send them on buses"

U.S. Authorizes Ordered Departure of DoD Dependents from Turkey > U.S. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE > Article View

WASHINGTON, March 29, 2016 — The U.S. government has authorized the ordered departure of Defense Department dependents from Turkey, including those at Incirlik Air Base, according to Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook.

The move announced today comes out of an "abundance of caution" to security concerns in the region, and not in response to a specific threat, Cook told reporters.

Defense Secretary Ash Carter, in coordination with Secretary of State John Kerry, authorized the ordered departure for all DoD dependents in Izmir, Adana and Mugla provinces, Cook said.

This step does not signify a permanent decision to end accompanied tours at these facilities, according to a news release from U.S. European command.

"This decision allows for the deliberate, safe return of family members from these areas due to continued security concerns in the region," he said.

The decision impacts 670 out of the 770 Defense Department dependents in Turkey, Cook said, adding that it is his understanding that "this will move quickly."

The ordered departure applies to all dependents whose sponsors are under the authority of the commander of U.S. European Command, and includes dependents whose sponsors are stationed at Incirlik.

Dependents at Ankara and Istanbul are not impacted, the spokesman said.

Cook said the decision is intended to mitigate the risk to DoD elements and personnel, including family members, while ensuring the combat effectiveness of U.S. forces and mission support to operations in Turkey.

Syria civil war: Kurds declare federal region in north

The Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and several allied groups have voted to create an autonomous federation in the northern part of Syria.

PYD officials claimed autonomy for the Kurdish-controlled areas on Thursday after two days of meetings with delegates of different communities in the region.

Representatives of the Kurdish, Arab, Assyrian communities and other ethnic groups met in the town of Rmeilan in Hassakeh province to discuss bringing three Kurdish-led autonomous areas under the umbrella of a federal system.

Taj Kordsh, a spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Forces, one of the groups involved, told Al Jazeera that the move had been made after many attempts by the Kurds to be heard.

"The Kurdish people have been rejected and silenced in the latest peace talks in Geneva," he said.

"We feel that the world powers are using us as a tool to push forward their agendas. It is now our right to protect ourselves. We do not support dividing Syria, but we expect an equal and fair outcome from the peace talks, and we have not seen any."

The YPG, Jaish al-Thuwar and other Kurdish groups are all part of the SDF, a coalition that was founded in Syria's northeastern region in October.

Both the Syrian government and one of the main opposition blocs immediately rejected the move.

Lucy, have you seen the recent Trump's video about insane European refugee policy?
This video is going viral in Europe, but the #NeverTrump folks who refuse to listen to common sense hate it.

The situation just gets more complicated and more dangerous each day now. I'm convinced within a few months, we're all going to wake up and put the news on and it'll be telling us that the SHHTF x 1000 and it'll probably be WWIII, but I'm not sure if they'll refer to it as WWIII.

Which is why Turkey should be bombed, we ie. The West, we can't let a psychopath like Erdogan blackmail and threaten us the way he does.

Also he cannot be allowed to launch an invasion, that's only going to escalate an already horrific situation into falling completely off the scale of insanity.

We should, but I fear that we won't.

As this madness is certainly to escalate within the next few months, don't forget the other lunatics Saudi Arabia, they've assembled a coalition involving some of the Islamic nations in Africa, as well as Bahrain, UAE etc and they were said to have was it 350,000 soldiers on the Syrian border....this was last month this was reported, now it's quiet I've not heard anymore reports about this crazy Saudi Arabian coalition.

So Turkey invading Syria and using excuse of the Kurds and the Saudi Arabian coalition invading Syria to prop up ISIL/ISIS/Daesh.

I MEAN WHAT could POSSIBLY go wrong?

I'd say something is going to happen yes. Normally they tell people "be cautious, don't leave your house or Embassy, etc." Telling EVERYONE to leave is a whole other thing.
