you have a source for this information? It seems to me that there can be lots of reasons for
restrictions on SPECIFIC kinds of imports. From the standpoint of PUBLIC HEALTH----neither
dates or potatoes are a logical SAVING FROM STARVATION choice for a multitude of reasons---
IMHO they both act as hosts for pests far too easily. -----good choices are dried legumes,
oil, flour, rice --------oatmeal would be good but I doubt that it is all that culturally
acceptable. Milk powder is an excellent choice. "DATES FOR STARVATION"? lots of arabs
are diabetic----its a genetic thing----you want them to go into HYPERGLYCEMIC SEIZURES?

The legitimacy of claims is decided by courts. I suppose the court felt the claims were legitimate so it issued an arrest warrant. For war crimes, I think. The genocide case is ongoing. That's how it works in lawful nations.
