I would be surprised if Japan can topple this lineup, but they are always great in international events.

  • Mookie Betts - RF.
  • Mike Trout - CF.
  • Paul Goldschmidt - 1B.
  • Nolan Arenado - 3B.
  • Kyle Schwarber - LF.
  • Will Smith - C.
  • Pete Alonso - DH.
  • Tim Anderson - 2B.
  • Trea Turner - SS
Apparently Merrill Kelly starting.

Japan

  • Lars Nootbaar, CF
  • Kensuke Kondoh, RF
  • Shohei Ohtani, DH
  • Masataka Yoshida, LF
  • Munetaka Murakami, 3B
  • Kazuma Okamoto, 1B
  • Tetsuto Yamada, 2B
  • Sosuke Genda, SS
  • Yuhei Nakamura, C

you mean the home run king didnt get in on the team?...

The MLB shouldnt allow players to play in these games period.
We lost Jose Altuve for two F'n months because of this shit.
I could see letting them play if they held these games right after the season ended.

Japan wins.

I don't think we should lose our shit over it, though. It's an exhibition. It's one game, whereas a WS would be the best 4 of 7. Japan absolutely brought their best players, and we brought *many* of our best.

There's no shame in losing this. Japan's top 20 players are as or almost as good as our top 20. In the end, their very best come to America because MLB is still the best league.
