Sri Lanka Oil Tanker Fire breaks out again ship abandoned Indian and Russian ships join rescue

Every ship loss and subsequent fire is a terrible thing these days but it wasn't that long ago when burning ships were a common sight on the WW2 blacked out American coast. More than 25 million tons of cargo was lost in five years of WW2 and the ocean was barely impacted. Before we go hysterical about a modern oil tanker on fire we should consider the modern ways that we have to deal with the situations.
