I believe you, I suspect most Brits in Britain regard Trump as a buffoon but I am certain there's a hard core that admire him, we had a similar thing back when Thatcher was elected and she began to dismantle the welfare state, but Trump blows Thatcher out of the water, he's far beyond her and she was at least pretty intelligent.

Actually, a guy was on the Daily Show Monday explaining how Biden's stimulus' solved poverty. What we did during Covid solved poverty. We should have told our politicians to continue doing that.

Republicans love to say the rich pay all the taxes. It's just not true. Between sales tax, income tax and all the other taxes we pay, we pay a much higher percentage of our pay to taxes.

I forget the exact numbers but they said poor people get $30K in welfare but the rich get about $45K in tax/welfare write offs.

They said if we just collected the taxes the rich owed, we'd be able to come up with 2 trillion dollars a year. I'm not talking about raising their taxes. I'm talking about them paying the taxes they owe now. They aren't paying their taxes.

They said Capitalism, even you and me, rely on poverty. Even me. I am able to buy a cheap lunch because the restaurant owner doesn't pay very much. Or Walmart. I buy from Walmart, which pays their employees poverty wages.
